Hold up play is class imo. Underrated passer as well
Set us up well to start the game. We looked strong defensively barely gave them a sniff.
His subs were really poor. He also failed to adjust to PSG overloading the flanks at the end.
He needs 2 quality attacking players. We look very short in quality upfront. Its one thing to be tight and deep defensively aginst a PSG. But against a Burnley we'll need to attack and have some quality to break their defence.
Looking forward to the next game to see how we adapt to the opposition. And if we have any new signings to strengthen that weak frontline.

The amount of fans I've had to squabble with who think this kid is a generational happening around the corner.

with the players we have, we can be a bit like atletico from years ago, we just need that frontline packed with quality.

Having sobered up a bit I’m actually feeling quite optimistic now. Frank set us up, despite a massive quality disadvantage, and suffocated PSG for 75 minutes. That’s not going to be the case every match but it shows the level of flexibility and defensive principles he has.
We simply don’t have enough in attack and do not have the passers that top teams do. Part of that is on Levy but part is on his subs too. He’ll learn, though.
Back him. Get him real attackers like Savinho and Eze, and a proper passer in midfield, and for the love of god get him a forward better than Tel.

Good comparison.
Good manager. Optimistic about the new season. This defeat sucks, a lot, especially the manner that we lost, but trust in this guy.
to be fair, hes already got odobert, richy, solanke, BJ and any other forward we have at the club whos better than tel. hes had a 45m turd forced upon him clearly.
I'm letting him off the subs as I understand why he made them (injuries... Richie is a sick note and we simply cannot lose Kudus this early... or at any time, really) and he also doesn't know Tel enough to know you don't put him on there.
Or ever.
Also, I think Odobert would have been a better pace threat for than Dom, but he likely favoured the extra height.
Just a shame we have to rely on defenders for goals.

A few total kneejerk reactions after one game;
-Back 3/back 5 may be a viable strategy moving forward, and not just an emergency measure, based on -above anything else- the fact that it unleashes Romero and VdV completely.
Romero’s tendency to push over the defensive line to disrupt the opponents is better compensated in a back 3/5 than in a back 4, and VdV was essentially playing like the LCB of a back 3 under Ange anyway.
-A double pivot of Palhinha and Bentancur might be lacking in mobility. Sarr or Bergvall can compensate for this with their dynamism in a 3 man midfield the way the former actually did tonight, but if we’re going to bring in a 10 who’s not very good defensively to play in front of the said double pivot then I’m not sure.
-It's clear how big of an emphasis he's already putting on set pieces which is great, but this kind of elaborate set piece rituals might not be viable when we're in a hurry chasing the game. There's an inherent trade-off between efficiency and wasted time that he will need to find a middle ground on eventually.
-Kudus can be his Mbeumo as that winger-striker hybrid that'll switch between the two roles depending on how many strikers we'll use on a given game. I don't see him being able to play as the lone striker but he can definitely be the secondary one in a two striker formation.
Very encouraging start, much more than I could have hoped for.
