If you understand sport science and fitness the fact that they played up until recent and only had a week to train is no problem at this level. All they lacked was touch and muscle memory. That comes back the longer the game goes on.
The fact is these players are never far off elite fitness

Sure but you don’t go straight back to 100% full speed for 90 mins in your first game back from a break or you’ll probably pick up injuries.

And they didn’t. They were almost walking pace for most of the game and didn’t ever really turn it on.

Why? Because he can answer questions?

Didn't even answer the biggy, why despite being way ahead of PSG for fitness, we were the team that shelled into their own box for the last 30 minutes and completely stopped pressing the ball, even in deep areas.

And this isn't just about it being Spurs v PSG, Brentford were the same, giving up 26 points from winning positions last season. Only 3 better than us.
what do you want him to do? we have no midfielder that can get hold of the game and boss it and no forwards that can hold the ball up.

Stop being a grumpy old bastard BC, we were great.

Its not full speed if your last game was only 3 weeks ago. A weeks intense training and youre nearly back up to speed. One thing you are forgetting is we had a new manager playing the best team in the world. But hey you do you keep it negative

He swerved that by saying how amazing the talent was that PSG brought on but I’m not sure that Mbaye dude was even part of the CL squad last year?

Frank made a positive impression tonight but also needs to find a better plan for protecting a lead than just sitting further and further back

Look the subs were concerning. I didn’t like the approach the final 15 mins at all.

BUT I trust Frank to have more than 2 brain cells to rub together unlike previous management. He clearly has lessons from the Bayern match til now, huge changes made. He will learn from this and build off of it. He thinks. The previous management did not.

It wasn’t full speed, that’s the point. They clearly weren’t up to full speed yet. I don’t think they really got out of 3rd gear.

The new manager thing is a fair point and Frank this time next year hopefully has us able to hurt a PSG team that’s on top form

They were red hot and Chelsea did the same thing to them as we did and they got done.

If we had those couple players in we needed and they were as ready as he implies they 'd ideally be, we'd have done them just the same tonight.

We had that animal in us.

So Enrique can fuck off.

*still a boss manager tho, obvs

Surely Romero won't be having any of that from Tel? Hope either Frank or Romero sorts his work ethic out or he won't succeed at Spurs.

You can coach a player to be useful to an extent, but its even harder to fix a players mentality.

Though whether Tel had any quality at this moment, im unsure about.
Bergie was so much better when he came on though. Showed his class in those 5 mins Chasing shadows like a cunt as well. All tel’s fault though👍put his hand up for a pen as well and didn’t let a CB take one. Bestest young player in the world ever🤮

I phrased that wrong its not a shock to the system to get to full speed if your last match is only 3 weeks ago. Body can get back up quickly esp after a weeks training
