hes such a good fit for us, we have needed to adapt how we play teams for years and years, we finally have that man.

as someone on here said before too, he looks like hes spurs, theres something about the look of him that looks tottenham.

A clean sheet slightly flattered us today, considering the number of vital clearances and blocks we needed, but overall you can't really ask for much more than that with the personnel he has.

In particular, what a long way this team's pressing has already come in a matter of few weeks. We all sensed that there was going to be an improvement as the bar was set on the floor by the previous regime, but beautiful to see nonetheless.

We're scoring goals and creating chances as a direct result of our pressing now, instead of getting ripped apart by any team that can string three passes together.

It’s far too soon. But let’s go with the premier league era.

Mourinho was shit tactically. Just relied on Kane and Son to win games. Conte was sussed out after 6 months. Ange the same. Poch didnt know how to make subs and made weird gambles tactically that didn’t work. Redknapp had many strengths but not tactics - run around a bit. AVB - never really got him.

Jol was decent.

90s …. Not really an era for tactical intelligence
Premier league era he’s in with a shout if this form continues.

His game management seems to be a level above Poch, but he’s provided the biggest modern thrill for me, closely followed by Redknapp and then Jol.

Burkinshaw was the first manager I was aware of as a kid and I loved him.

It's a very encouraging start, but lets not start getting carried away, claiming Frank is "the best coach we've had".

Yes, we beat Man City away 2-0, which is an excellent result. But last season we beat them 4-0 at the Etihad. The season before that we beat them 3-0.

The Burnley home result was good too, but they're basically last seasons Southampton, and we beat them 5-0 last year at home.

And in Tomas Frank's first game we threw away a chance to win a European Trophy. Whereas we all know how our previous European Trophy match went.

I like Frank, as a person, and he does look tactically more astute than our previous manager so far, but it's very early days.

Haven't we learned our lesson from Ange Postecoglou's first couple of months?

It’s about balance.

Ange’s European game was against a 15th place, in crisis Man United. Franks was against the current champions of Europe PSG. So the two can’t really be compared in terms of being as easy to win.

People hold up Ange’s EL win in one match, and I’m grateful to Ange for the moment and for getting it over the line but it doesn’t change him losing 22 league games at the same time.

People need to have caution, the first ten games under Ange we looked like world beaters, after that, steady decline, culminating in one of our worst finishes in history, hidden in a large way by a glory night in Bilbao.

So I don’t think we should be calling Frank the messiah, but under him, we look better organised, better coached, like we actually have a plan that isn’t just “run about and make your dad proud” and most importantly that plan changes depending on who we’re against.

What could make it come unstuck and is most likely at the moment is our lack of depth, as once again the manager hasn’t been given what he needs. Even the same backing that Ange had would benefit Frank currently. He has however made a tremendous start here, and whilst, as I say, I urge caution whilst we watch what Levy does, if people want to be happy just being able to watch a decent footballing side again then have at it.

We actually look like we can create goals, and clearly we’ve levelled up in defence using the exact same players. For a guy on here that some referred to as “a PE teacher” he’s taken a few games to make them look stupid.

Completely agree with your assessment of PL managers .

I don’t remember Burkinshaw

It's more to it than that though, the 4 nil win was great but we never looked in control under Ange, the balance was non existent.

Yes we had one off results, but the coaching was non existent.

You can clearly see what Frank is doing. Bar that last 5 minutes against PSG, we have looked so solid and in control.

It is early days though you are right, not to get ahead of ourselves just yet, enjoy the moment.

But, we need to back him.
