To play devils advocate we lost 2 of most creative players and sonny who was past it but still had significant output

and this team finished 17th so clearly has some underlying issues with champions league football now aswell it might not be as simple as that

The load of Europe and previous injury issues definitely casts a shadow

But if Frank keeps people fit, that’s the 5th best squad in the PL imo. Comfortably really

I think if Maddison and Kulu were both fit i would definately agree, especially Maddison.

We will be competing for european places for sure though.

The squad has been boosted with the additions and hopefully we show it on the pitch but not every transfer works out all the time

Another positive sign from Frank, omitting Tel from the UCL league phase squad. I think it’s clearly the correct move but I was not expecting him to do that considering the money we forked out for Tel this summer.

The cop out choice would be to add him simply because of the investment we’ve thrown at Tel. I’m happy to see that he is willing to make decisions that benefit the squad even if it makes the higher ups potentially uncomfortable.

I think it's unlikely but possible that Frank coming in from Brentford and sharing how far behind this club is in recruitment and structure could have contributed to Levy's downfall.

There is no doubt that Brentford and Brighton are doing laps around the rest of the league when it comes to recruitment (outside of Liverpool) and the only reason those 2 are not competing at the top is that every one of their good players that they buy for 10m or less, gets sold for 5-10 times that amount.

Certainly possible that Lewis’s kids wanted his views

Stupid.

And no, he’s lost 1 of 4.
We beat Burnley and Man City, and lost to PSG and Bournemouth.

Of course it's a ridiculously small sample size, and very early days, but results so far are just about par. On seeing those fixtures you'd reasonably expect us to win 2 and lose 2.

Hopefully we'll improve on that going forward, starting with West Ham.
