Park the bus and time waist the hell out of them. Play theim at their own cynical game and give them a dirty taste of their own medicine. Newcastle have been their bogey team the last few years because they match them physically.

I hope we line up at the emirates with a back 5 and Palhinha and Romero get very satisfying yellow cards. We'll have Danso doing the long throws. Bring on Richarlison for the last 10 mins and get him to just run into Gabriel and keep knocking him over. Take a red if he has to.

About time we stop being pushovers for them rats.

Spurs are better than Woolwich in every position except keeper. Woolwich play every big game scared, and they will never win anything under Arteta. Arse will spend the entire game falling on the floor, desperately looking for penalties. The result will be decided by the ref, not the football.

No we aren’t. Get real.

Burying your head in the sand doesn’t make you a bigger spurs fan than those of us that can think.

The prompt wasn’t “should Frank plan to win every game or not?”…

This was the prompt:
If he can beat the Goons he is close to Legend status already, if he somehow manages to beat the Goons and Chelsea then build the man a fucking statue!!!! I love Ange for the EL but the way we played in London Derbies was a joke and if Frank gifts them nomad South London cunts 6 points this season then I don't think he is the one.......

Nah, fucking go at them... as Mourinho once said... be cunts... not stupid cunts, clever cunts... be aggressive, be physical, rattle them, wind them up, bomb their box with long throws, give away petty fouls in their half... they are the ultimate bottlers and will fold like a cheap suit... I reckon they have several candidates that you can get sent off... that fucking cunt Gabriel being one. That fucker will see red at the slightest bit of provocation. Timber is another one.

Bayern were not the Bayern we think of today. They came 4th in the league that year, same as the season before, and were smack bang in the middle of a 20 year period of not winning any European silverware. It was pretty much like playing Frankfurt at the time.

Also, Cruyff was in his retirement year at Feyenoord, and not the same player as when he ruled Europe over a decade earlier. Hell, he'd even been to the US and back in the years leading up to it. Sure they won their league that season, but the Dutch league was ranked 12th by UEFA at the time.

'Much harder' isn't really true. We were still playing the 5th best team in Croatia and the 2nd best team in Austria.
Did Bayern get to Euro cup final in 82?

Bare minimum.

Villa (H) - 3
Everton (A) - 3
Newcastle (A) - 3
Chelsea (H) - 3
United (H) - 3
Woolwich (A) - 3
Monaco (A) - 3
Copenhagen (H) - 3
PSG (A) - 3

Those early points lost need making up quickly.

That doesn't matter. The quality of teams in the UEFA that we faced is pretty much the same. We can do a fair comparison of the leagues/teams we played against, quite easily.

In the 2025 knockouts we played:

AZ Alkmar: 4th in Netherlands (6th best league)
Eintracht Frankfurt: 4th in Germany (3rd best league)
Bodo/Glint: 1st in Norway (12th best league)
Manchester United: 15th in England (1st best league)

In 1984 we played:

Drogheda United: 2nd in Ireland (24th best league(!!))
Feyenoord: 1st in Netherlands (12th best league)
Bayern Munich: 4th in Germany, (1st best league)
Hadjuk Split: 2nd in Croatia (8th best league)
Anderlecht: 2nd in Belgium (6th best league)

There's really not much difference at all. I think the reason why it upsets Kosher Kid and Ginola's Foot is because it fucks with their cherished yet unreliable childhood memories, and takes away their reason to denigrate what Levy achieved (which was to equal our best trophy since the early 60s).
Thing is it was a random draw in those days no seedlings I believe. However if you look at the over quality of the teams in the uefa cup back to EL now it was much stronger. Now most of the teams that are in the CL would have been in the uefa cup. Do ofc it was tougher but based on your draw. Which is the same for any cup comp.

Yeah I see both points though- the European Cup competition overall was stronger, but the teams *we* played to win it you could make a convincing argument weren't any better than the ones we beat in the Europa.

Who's style of play is closest to Frank's?
I'm thinking Esprito dos Santos ?
I think when Mourinho was focused and actually attempting to get us to play football (not winding up Levy or making snappy quotes for an Amazon doc), Frank mirrors his vision most closely. Compact defence, quick, hardworking midfielders and forwards, a team built around transition and set piece supremacy first, with passing a work in progress.

You are pure theatre

Superb stuff

Which position are Woolwich better than us? Again, I say only at keeper (marginally).

They have the benefit of a squad, coach and style that has been in place for a number of years - which means they are well drilled and organised. But I would say that our squad has a higher ceiling - and if everything clicks - the better team.
