Solanke is crap. Whats he meant to do differently to Richarlison and Tel? Hes more of the same.
For a start hes a target man. He also scores decent amout of goals from chances, esp headers (atho last year our wonderful team didnt bother crossing to him), and he also presses the feck out of the keeper which if other forwards did would give chances.

If you really think hes the same as Richi, no. And as for Tel give your head a wobble

Think we look fine everywhere else apart from attack tbh. Our forwards are utter dog shit. Kudus and maybe solanke aside. Simons is getting used to the league still, maddison is inconsistent but a big miss, kulusevski is overrated to fuck. Richarlison, Johnson, odobert, Tel, all just not good enough.

We've definitely looked more solid in defence, vicario should be upgraded, midfield is largely fine imo.

Our home form has been a big worry for a few years now. It's going to take time to fix imo.

He’s had 18 games in charge 6 of which were warm up games, PSG game I’m no sure how you view it the other 12 were competitive two of which we’ve lost, two! Majority agree our squad is average + we’ve not played well other than the city game we’ve huffed & puffed in most of the games we’re top 6 plodding on in Europe and still in the league cup there’s fuck all to moan about at this stage , near end of the season out of all the cups and mid table then and only then there’s reason to have a go.

His football is drab, basic, and lacks enterprise. Our concerning xG numbers finally caught up to us today. 9 out of 10 attacks look nowhere near scoring.

Come on, we know why that is.

If he has players back and a bit of extra, much-needed, quality injected and it's still the case, then I'll become concerned.

Until then I expect general deficiency in our attacking play.

I'm not looking at Johnson, Richie, Odobert and Tel and expecting cutting edge.

It's grim.

We've had a pretty easy start and I'd say we are a little bit below par

Beating city - great. One point from Wolves, Villa and Bournemouth - awful.

I do think the injuries to Madders and Solanke (Kulu too maybe) have really affected us. Hopefully we'll be better once Solanke is back. I also think Xavi will improve as he adapts to the league.

I ink all in all we are a point light. No more than that.

Wolves - yes. Negated by the City win.

A few teans will yield points to Leeds at home, this side of Christmas and maybe beyond. Then Villa loss today. I thought it might end up as a draw. Nothing lost/gained.

Bournemouth. Hmmmmm....

I think my concern is that we need a fit Solanke, and we need to hope Kulusevski returns in line with anticipated.

Whether the likes of Simons/Muani/Tel and Odobert can find consistent good form in a tough league will dictate if we are top 8 or top 12 by Christmas/New Yrar.

We ain't getting near the top 5 in my opinion. No chance.

The squad lacks a bit of star dust and forward power for sure. The issues I had with Lange and Levy are catching us up, too much jam tomorrow you can see that Odobert and Tel are still 18months minimum off being EPL ready. But I didn't think we were a quick fix away from being ready. We are recovering from the last two years of crazy give the bloke a season and let's start to judge. Id be happy to make the Ueffa this year and this was always the case.

The team lacks alot of quality. But so far I find his football dull.
Lots of people hate the stats, but this is an instance of statistics supporting perception.

We have the 3rd lowest xG for+against in the league. Only Villa and Newcastle are lower.

So there's not a lot happening at either end during our matches. That's good for our defence but poor for our attack.

The good news is that our attack is being very efficient scoring with the opportunities it has created. That stands us in good steady as we develop more attacking thrust.

The defence was always going to be the early focus. We'd conceded 60+ for 3 seasons on the trot. Sorting that out had to be the top priority.

The loss of Maddison, Solanke and Kulusevski all at the same time is just too much unfortunately.

Very, very average attacking options for him to work with.

We needed Xavi to hit the ground running to mitigate the loss of Kulusevski and particularly Maddison.

He hasn't. Not to say he won't eventually, but long way off the standard to plug those holes at the moment.

Too much of an attacking void at the moment.

What happened to the fluid formations we were seeing in preseason?

I was not a fan of the hire but when I saw his ability to switch formations based on the opposition, he started to win me over a bit.

He hasn’t shown that hardly at all since PSG. It is legitimately just a less aggressive Ange setup.

Formations are not the issue.

Personel in the final 3rd is.

We can invent all sorts of other imaginary problems -- and reasons why we lost today -- but the stark reality is lack of quality where it really, really counts.

Tbf when he’s got shit centre forwards, shit left wingers and a CAM who has never played in the Prem before it’s hardly surprising that we look wank up front.

Benefit of the doubt til he’s got proper players in those positions. Hopefully ENIC were serious. Time will tell I guess.
