I think he's clearly decided on his best midfield and he's got that decision wrong. The question is can he recognise his mistake and get Sarr or Bergval into that midfield and make it work. Archie Gray has done well in all his cameo appearances this year but is never getting a chance either.

The early signs for me is that Frank is totally out of his depth and doesn't know how to utilize our squad and get the right balance on the pitch. I really hope he proves me wrong now. The irony is the next 3 away games would actually suit the Bentancur/Palhinha double pivot but he forced himself into needing to change it now. He's in over his head atm. Its feeling like Nuno

This! Tel was invisible and when Richie came on he was even worse.

We need solanke back and a fit Muani on the flank. That should give us atleast some physicality up top as tel & odovert just get bullied.

He also needs to settle on a midfield which supports the attack. Xavi spent more time tackling on the edge of his box rather than dictating play in the middle and in attacking areas. That double pivot of bent and palinha just doesn’t give enough against the lesser sides who give us more of the ball.

But it’s a process, baring the scum every team is dropping points this season so it’s not desperate. The good thing is that we should hopefully have some creativity coming back with muani, solanke and kulu towards Xmas
Our performances dipped when we started to rest Sarr. Up to then we had looked rock solid in central midfield with the trio of Palhinha-Bentancur-Sarr.

I know, it doesn't look sexy at all, but that's just the feeling i got, our performances slumped when we broke up that trio.

Bergvall and Xavi are just boys. And wouldn't be fair on any of them too expect they would fill Madders shoes.

We have dropped more points at home from winning positions than any other team since the start of last season. There's literally no other top flight team worse than us for it.
Yeah, last fecking season... That was just one giant cluster-fuck... So bad, not only did the Manager get sacked, but the CEO too.

Seriously, has some kind of gas been released over the country, leading to severe cases of brain rot...

WTF is wrong with people.

I'm searching my house for camera's, this is just a stitch up TV show isn't it...

Come out, come out, where ever you are...

Bournemouth.

You are providing nothing constructive and dismissing any evidence being sent your way. If Frank finishes midtable (assuming we don't win any cups too), then its been a shit season by all metrics.

Our standards should be higher than Brentford!
Mid table is where we’ll finish without Solanke and Deki returning and some investment in attack.

Our current frontline is mid table at best, and that’s being extremely generous!

Anyone calling for Frank’s head given our current squad needs to give their head a wobble!

Yeah good point. It feels like we've been outfought in midfield since we removed Sarr. His legs are badly missed.

The problem is that its such an uninspiring midfield in terms of trying to dominate teams and win games. But if Frank just wants to set us up to be hard to beat then he should just be starting Sarr. I think he's trying his best to become a more attacking coach by using Simons in the 10 but the balance has just been all wrong so far. The gaps in midfield are glaring

Not impressed with Frank so far but for now at least he gets a free pass from me given he has walked into a club that for the most part has been catastrophically mismanaged at all levels for at least five years. While not impossible it's hard to turn that thing around in just one summer especially after another typical headless chicken transfer window.

Having said that, it's getting incredibly boring watching this team capitulate every other game and at home, which is unforgivable. It says everything that even when we go 1-0 up now, I'm defaulting into thinking 'so, how do we lose from here?' Pattern recognition is a bitch.

A huge issue is that this to me is a very unlikeable team. I would estimate 75% of the players at least are plodders just going through the motions. It's so rare to see us control a game and win easily these days. Even 90s Spurs did that, they were just wildly inconsistent.

Sadly, it really is a case of we have to be patient (again). Hopefully the post-Levy management really do mean it when they say want more success and that Frank will get his ideas across as the season goes on because right now I can't see where the next win is except maybe Copenhagen at home, and even that's only going to come after a turgid affair where we win after scraping a 1-0 victory.
Well you have pinpointed the problems yourself!

It's NOT Frank!

Agree that both are huge misses. Especially with Xavi Simons not hitting the ground running. We've actually dropped points so far by signing him because I reckon we'd have had a better balanced midfield if it was Bergval or Sarr playing there every game. And his few performances at lw ruined our team balance too.

Hopefully we see Solanke by November and Kulusevski by January. Both will make a huge difference. And lets hope Simons gets up to speed because atm he's not a worthy starter

This is starting to look like a thing analytics has “discovered “ as a good idea.

Probably playing the ball through midfield leads to high xG chances against you when you lose the ball.

Unfortunately, changing the way you play to only do the horse shoe shape and sideways passes, makes it fucking horrible for fans to watch and anyone with an eye for tactics just sees the build up as limited and predictable

Levy.

They just stumped up £100 million to deal with shit, through the shares thing.

It's not even a transfer window.

And new board is being put in place.

The only thing you we can do, is see what they get up too... See who they target etc etc.

It's a waiting game. There has been a monumental change at spurs.

Only time will tell what the result is.
But the owners are still the same!

Wich makes me wonder if all these "changes" are just a show.

laughable post.

His presser is boring AF, just like our play. The transcript of his presser sounds inspiring at times, but he sounds totally nothing like that.

His first sentence, 'I think the way the game end out was exactly how we expected it to be'. Wtf? He expected a loss straight away?

He was obviously talking about the texture of the game, how tight it was, two fairly evenly matched teams, both pressing high resulting in a lot of turnovers. The defenses largely negating the forwards because both of the defenses were better than the opposing forward lines.

He obviously wasn't talking about the result.

Can we not start agendas about every manager that comes through the door?
