Under Poch after 8 matches we had 32 shots on target out of 92 total.

Under Frank we have 29 shots on target out of 86.

There's really not as much difference as you think.
People have gone full rose tinted on Poch the early years. It was hit and miss to begin with and by his own admission he thought he was going to get fired. The league was also weaker. I categorically did not think we were quick fix. If we get 6th this year I'll be elated. We are short on quality proven quality. I dont think Frank has even settled on a long term tactical plan. He is not an idealist so does not have one merely to hand he has always played.

I dont think the football of Pochettino was great at this point and the metrics as you highlight were similar. I think the difference is I feel like we have a lot of dead wood to shift some of it recently acquired by the previous coach. We need to have calm heads and I think we will be fine.

November against Chelsea when we lost 3-0 was when you could see what he was tying to do but we also lost to Stoke and Newcastle at home that month, we were pretty shocking...the Villa match where we were absolutely shit and scored with a deflected Kane free kick everyone thought that the project was done because we were absolutely abysmal and he actually says that free kick saved his job.

Anyway it's a pointless comparison, both managers have picked up from previous managers and seasons in much different circumstances, can't judge this manager until he gets some of his big hitters back on the pitch, we've lost a fuck load of goal contributions in this team from last season so we're always going to struggle to score and create.
It's not the results, again. Obviously some ropey performances are going to come with a new manager. But we were direct, moved the ball quickly, little triangles over the pitch, full backs moving into a dm role when the other roamed. There were very evidently signs that there was something good happening, but translating it took a little time.

Now, every win nearly is a terrible performance. There's no direction. Constant negative team selections, crap subs or late subs, lose control of every game for huge spells, no semblance of an attack. I just don't see anything which warrants putting up with this. We did lose goal contributions, but we've also added two players that were supposed to come in and steady the ship. Everyone here was gushing about the attacking quality before the season started. We're so one dimensional, and as much flack as he gets, Vocario is probably the reason we're as high as we are. We're also way outperforming our XG, that's not sustainable and results will start to reflect that. If we're sitting 10th-11th come December, he has to go. Improving from 17th to midtable after spending what we have and having a vastly fitter squad, is inexcusable.

Says the Baldcunt, Angetard guy.

So you can be negative when it suits you, but if you don't agree with what's being said they're "deranged".

Utter hypocrite.
I'm reasonably critical of everything.

If Frank was having a disaster that threatened the progression of this club, I'd happily join in, as I'm club first over anything else.

He's picked up a team, though, who's form was in tatters, who had become conditioned to losing games of football and leaking goals for fun, that finished 17th, and began work off of a mission statement of building something sustainable from the ground up so it's stable and successful long term.

Record to date proves he's beginning to do just that on the gradual track he set.

You bitter, twisted blobs that reason like children and can't effectively engage with reality are toxic af and need to fuck off and spare us your dipshit daily takes.

Would a change in formation to 4-4-2 help our attack? Play only one DM, next to a box to box midfielder.

Vicario
Pedro Porro - Romero - van de Ven - Udogie
Kudas - Paulinha - Bergvall - Simons
Kolo Muani - Richarlison

Kinsky
Spence - Danso - Dragusin/Takai - Davies
Johnson - Bentancur/Gray - Sarr - Odobert
Solanke - Tel

Yes, the toxic ones who give their opinions and get called names by the peaceful, gracious people on here, like yourself. Again, complete hypocrite.

I hope you continue to enjoy the terror ball served up every week. You probably don't like it as much as anyone else, but you're so dug in now you don't have a choice. It's terrible, it's about to get a whole lot worse. Calling out something that's bad is not toxic. We have expectations and they're not being met. You then throwing a hissy fit and insulting people for saying something you don't agree with is toxic.

Some real pieces of work here.

I don't have to be a flower-power hippie to justifiably call out toxic, noxious, hysterical wet wipes like you.

Mid table is where we’ll finish without Solanke and Deki returning and some investment in attack.

Our current frontline is mid table at best, and that’s being extremely generous!

Anyone calling for Frank’s head given our current squad needs to give their head a wobble!
People seem to be forgetting that Solanke was pretty ordinary himself last season. He is not a goal scoring maestro that will start banging them in.

Just an angry old man yelling at a cloud because you can't accept that there's justifiable criticism of a coach of the club, and that isn't what you think.

Again, toxic if you don't agree. Good luck with your crusade, wish you well.
Your thoroughly irrational, unhinged, non-stop rants against this new manager, who's just gotten here and has begun a recovery job of serial losing team, are completely batshit and, really, quite concerning, and you should take a break from the forum imvho.

Super unhealthy.

No we weren't, you're re-writing history, we were pretty abject and inconsistent in the early Poch years, I don't know what you're remembering but it definitely wasn't Poch ball in the first 6 months, our defence was also pretty shit as well because we hadn't learnt how to press until around xmas and even then we'd leave giant holes in the middle of the pitch because our timing was off.

I didn't think Frank was the right fit for the club when he got the gig and have seen nothing since to change my mind.
Imo safe pair of hands after finishing 17th last season. Levy's legacy. For me not a sexy enough appointment for a club our size. Hope he proves me wrong but in my mind Tuchel and poch available next summer. Personally I would have the latter to stabilize and grow us back to a gimme top 4 team every season.
