Like I said, the notion is equally mental either way but if you wanted to credit Ange for a winning mentality after the Europa League and finishing 5th in his first season with a much less talented squad, that would potentially have more credibility than saying he’s at fault for bad performances several months and a full pre season after he was sacked.

Ange didn’t have a much less talented squad first season, relative to the league. He also only had to worry about the league.

He had a still productive Son and a healthy Maddison which is an insane g+a boost compared to the options Frank has. We currently don’t have a single reliable goalscorer fit with Solanke also out. Richarlison, Odobert, Tel all garbage. Maybe Johnson but he’s barely a footballer.

Simon’s is very good but like Wirtz very obviously adapting and not the same impact as a league adapted Maddison. We finished 5th due to an excellent 10 games built on those two being top class.

Ange didn’t develop a winning mentality. We lost almost every week. Abandoning hard competitions and throwing everything at the soft target isn’t the mentality of winners. It was a desperate gamble which paid off, not the development of a winning team or philosophy.

As of now, if Frank ovrrsees the nextv2 games without us losing, he merits a lot of praise.

In its absence it won't be a surprise but it means nothing is being answered.

And above takes the depleted nature of our squad at present.

He’d just lost Kane who our entire team was built around and Hojberg in MF. He also had AFCON and Asia Cup to deal with, which places an even bigger load on an injury ravaged squad than European football does because they happen during the busiest schedule in the season.

Winning trophies is a winning mentality. Nobody cares how many league games you win if you don’t win the league.

But anyway, if we win games now it’s because of Frank and his coaches. If we lose games now, it’s because of Frank and his coaches.

Ange has fuck all do do with either. Thats the only point I’m making here.

It isn’t. A winning mentality is a team who want to win every single week and do everything to do so. A team who finish 2nd but on 99 points can still have a winning mentality. The team who got relegated but won an FA cup (Wigan) don’t have a fucking winning mentality, it’s a load of fan engineered wham.

I agree all results are down to Frank this season - taking over from a proven clown now back to back sacked doesn’t change this.

So we agree that results are on Frank either way, why are we doing this?

You picked a topic that you agree on, to try and find a way to disagree with me?

Weird chap

Just don’t want you to get away with more sucking off of your hero after you were conclusively proved wrong about it mate, you can’t sneak it in there.

Ah you are still butthurt that Spurs actually won a major European trophy again before your precious gooners.

Best season in my Spurs supporting life in 24/25. Will always be grateful to Ange for killing the Spursy tag.

But Ange is long gone, bringing him up these days is basically a mental illness. Ange Derangement Disorder (ADD).

You brought him up 😂

The club needs to bring an exorcist to the stadium and cast out the ghost of Postecoglou?

It’s pretty close to legitimate insanity to think that Ange has anything to do with whatever the team is doing now.

It would be equally illogical to say Ange deserves the credit for the good early results and now the positive effects of Ange are wearing off.

Both utterly bat shit crazy conclusions to reach:

Put the weirdos on ignore.

We are +1 EPL points compared to last season.
Last season all fixtures 8-1-3, 26-11.
This season 6-3-3, 22-11.
Less wins, less goals scored. Same goals conceded.

Even in this comment advising patience, you yourself are neglecting to mention thar those players weren't at that peak level when they started with us, they developed over time to become that much vaunted quartet.

Son in his first season barely did anything more than we have seen from Odobert so far, Eriksen was pretty mediocre in his first season under AVB/Sherwood.
I agree Son was fairly average, maybe even below average in his first season.
He averaged a goal involvement every 154 minutes.

Odobert is currently at 1 goal involvement every 369 minutes.

He really has done nothing whatsoever.
He might explode, but that's based on hope rather than evidence.

Ange’s famous first ten games were good results based on shite performances. Not seeing a huge difference here.

His attack was better, but defence was worse. His attack was fit, the defence broken. Now we have the other way round.

Frank came in saying he’d improve the defence and has done, mainly by being able to choose our best keeper and best four defenders. And also by having an actual DM in front of them. It would be tough to weaken a defence of Kinsky, Gray and Davies.

And he has improved set pieces, by not completely ignoring them.

I knew it would be a tough watch, when those are the main two areas of focus for Frank, but didn’t think we’d be this tough to watch. Been a bit boring so far. Hopefully, the return of injured forward players will be the kickstart the team needs.

Yeah that’s what I meant. Nobody in our attack is of the quality they were at the stage in their careers.

I think it sometimes just takes time to click, we've seen it ourselves with Poch, and it happens at other clubs too.

However, there must come a cut off point where you accept that if it hasn't clicked so far, then it's just not going to. We saw that with Ange, time doesn't magically make broken things suddenly work.

I think we're a way off reaching that point with Frank yet, but it would be nice to see some green shoots at some point. Currently we're in a shit spot where we don't look like we're going to score much, and we also don't look like we're going to stop teams scoring against us either.

I'm a bit puzzled, are you saying that we don't have anyone of the quality of those players at their peak in the current squad, or don't have anyone of the quality that those players were when they joined in our current squad?

Son and Eriksen were passengers for much of their first 12 months at the club, Alli had played League 1 Level, and Kane had a series of loans ranging between poor and mediocre. They all came a very long way to reach their high points, and there was a bit of fortune in that they all hit that sweet spot at pretty much the same time.

I suspect they are the same ones who want rid of Frank already.

I don’t know how many times he himself has publicly said that he isn’t happy with our attack and that we are missing all the players from last season who played there. It is almost like people aren’t based in reality that you can’t chuck a whole load of new players in a team and expect that they are gonna combine and bang in loads of goals. Even DESK took 6 to 9 months and we don’t have any players of that quality in the squad.
What makes it even funnier is some of them are calling for Iraola. A manager who didn't get a win until his 10th league game, and was given the time to implement his ways, and are now seeing the rewards. The same as Woolwich with Legohead. Even Fergie had a very rough start at Man Utd.

I'm not comparing Frank to any of them, but 95% of managers needs time to get their ways across. Those that hit the ground running usually end up struggling a lot later down the line, and there is plenty of proof in that.
