Boring the living shite out of me, but we are third, so can’t really complain too much.

I think we can give him some grace seeing as he took over a shit team with no confidence with a load of key players missing.

I'm not going to complain about the football unless there's 0 progress, for now this is what we need to hope for, staying in matches and relying on set pieces.

This thread is oddly inactive after that win that's taken us to third place. 🤔

What are you hoping to read in here ?

Everyone is happy with the result so in the match and player threads. If the performance was outstanding then they would be in this thread more probably.

Happy for Frank that he got that result. 3 points and 3rd in the table is a great place to be this early on in his Spurs career. He should probably buy Vicario and VDV dinner after tonight but sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. They can build on that result with some very tough games coming.

Said when he took over , he will need time after last seasons league fiasco .

He has been majorly handicapped by the long term injuries and absence of so many of last seasons goal scorers .

Its not pretty to watch at the moment but if people had said we'd be where we are at this time ,I would have doubted them .

He has a massive job ahead of him , but if backed in January , plus injured players returning , we could really see a very positive uplift in our performances .

Patience is a virtue , so they say , keep with it

Not sure it's unreasonable of me to expect praise in the manager's thread for him gaining 3rd place with a 3 nil win away against a stubborn team in their home ground.

So, a reasonable expectation and interesting observation.

Not a hope.

I'm not desperate for some on here to have self-respect and integrity.

Up to them.

Glad he stuck with Pal/Bents pivot despite pressure coming from the purists.

The football may stink but the points are juicy sweet :D

Commentators seem to keep highlighting similarities with Poch's start here.

Can't actually recall exactly how that went, but Frank's certainly not doing too shabby so far in relation to Poch out the blocks when he began here.

We were shite at this stage under Poch.
I know this as my Facebook memories are mostly of me moaning.

It's actually weird we managed to finish 5th in his first season. I can only assume everyone was pony.

Just competence isn’t it. I can imagine why this is mistaken for boredom by the cultists but really it’s just doing all the basics almost all the time and earning actual points.

Shut up a few people today, who will have gone silent, not knowing who to look at.

Still nothing to say definitively that Frank is the answer to the question but I am 100% certain we lose today's match with our previous incumbent.

Now to try and replicate this on Wednesday, but with some hope in the stride..

Ange’s chaos ball was entertaining initially, but it quickly proved unsustainable. With half the team sidelined by injuries, and those players failing to return to their previous form - it ultimately became suicideball.

With Frank, we have stabilised our defence and somehow still scoring goals without several key players (currently joint top with City and Chelsea) and experiencing fewer injuries. It’s a more sustainable approach, particularly given the limitations of an otherwise average squad.

In conclusion: Frank out.

Exactly. I was more bored losing 22 matches last season (and the ones the season before) under Ange than this. Was an utter waste of time, money and emotion.

It is worth noting, as I have said a few times recently, premier league football on the whole isn’t as entertaining as it was. Only the Brentford game was decent this weekend for example. All the others were a bit of a grind. I blame VAR and Legohead.

There are those that expect everything to click straight away, for all of the players to be at peak all of the time, and dominant champagne Football all the time.

We're seeing some resilience in this side. Even when we're playing poorly, we're making it difficult to beat us, barring the odd game.

The fluency will come, players currently not performing to their best standard will find their form.

All given time.

When performance stinks and noises were loud, critics were deemed not giving enough time to Frank.

Yet critics also cannot be allowed to give Frank more matches to show more of such victories like today is not an one-off, logically by being quiet because there's nothing to criticise, but the Frank defenders want some praises immediately. Hilarious to say the least.

Frank critics are being called knee jerks. Lol. Knee jerkers can work both ways.

My point being, both sides can be right. Facts are facts. But for some to constantly dig another camp out seemingly just to prove a 'told ya' is pathetic.

And for the matter, match threads have all the good comments already. It's only logical to have more in depth discussion, especially after a poor performance, to be debated more in the manager's or player's thread. What's so hard to understand?

I am not too happy about the lack of central progression football. But .. without players like Romero, Udogie, Maddison, Kulusevski, and Solanke, and Muani only just available, I think we've been really good. Important thing was to have a solid start and get to know the players, improve defensively, improve on set pieces, improve on squad rotation etc. and he has ticked a lot of boxes. Managing a football club is clearly a mid-long long term project. Sir Alex Ferguson took 3 years to do anything. Arteta is what, 5 or 6 years and counting? Frank took over a team that was used to losing (22 defeats last season?) and in a bit of a death spiral form wise. I am happy as long as things are progressing over time.

And it wasn't even losing with flair.

It was horrible to watch.

Tripe.
