What Frank said:

"Blah blah blah young players...blah blah blah frustrated...blah blah blah it's ok, no drama."

What he should have said:

"Micky and Djed's attitude at the final whistle was bang out of order. You do not ignore the manager, but even more so, you do not disrespect the fans. There's no Tottenham Hotspur without the fans. Owners, managers, players...they're temporary. Fans, they're permanent. They're the people whose hard-earned money pays your crazy wages. You make more in a week than 99% of fans will ever make in their lifetime. They put their money, time and soul into the club. You do not disrespect them by not saluting them at the end of the game, whatever the result.

Being young and frustrated is absolutely no excuse. You don't want to be frustrated? Turn up for the game and give 100%...even 110% seen as it is Chelsea at home. That performance against a major rival, at home in front of our fantastic fans, was simply disgusting.

Micky and Djed will not be part of the squad until after the Woolwich game and they will not be paid any wages until then. If we want to be a big club again, such childish, petulant and selfish acts must not be tolerated. And they will not be tolerated. A carefully drafted apology from their qgents or the club's PR department will not cut it. The joke ends now."

Maybe he is telling them to play in such a way that their natural instinct to create and angle is secondary to making sure they don't lose their man even though we have the ball... that's what defensive coaches do... even in possession they are worried about the turnover.
It def looks like Frank has coached both Benta and Palh to not risk taking on their mark in CM and trying to break the press with ball carrying actions- and to be fair I don’t think either can.

It’s years of awful recruitment , being reactive in the market , not getting first choice players and letting other teams pick who they want before we enter . The list is endless , I wonder how many players our managers have actually wanted . Years on knowing Son is coming to an end and his replacement is odobert and Tel for £55m combined . It’s just so amateurish .

Penny-wise
Pound-foolish

Tel and Odobert combined are a Seymenyo.

Same money, give or take. But no, we always do this.

£80m for Seymenyo and we could probably either win things and/or flip in a few years for £100m+

We will be lucky to get £30m for both Tel and Odobert combined. Genius.
It's an absolute fucking disaster.

People actually defended that bald fucker.

We are not that bad. Defenders, keeper and DMs are very good. The manager has to work out an attacking formula, so far he has failed and seems doesn't know which players to start or rely on, so far he is experimenting with poor results. Let's hope he gets it right in the next few weeks.
How can he work out an attacking formula with no attackers...we are toothless up front...surely our next significant buy must be a goalscorer..

Frank is making us difficult to beat
Hummm...say what?!

Lost 3 times already in the league. Shoulda been 4 with Wolves where we got massively lucky. Maybe even 5 with the Brighton game were it not for their defender's brainfart.

Bournemouth coulda scored 5, Chelsea about 8, same with Monaco in the CL.

Lost to Newcastle's B team in the shitty cup. Nearly lost to frigging Bodo. Villarreal deserved at least a draw.

It's more of a case of not wanting to spend what it takes to get players who are near guaranteed to be successes so we shop a couple of rungs down and hope that they turn out to be a success.
Until we are willing to compete for players in terms of wages then we need another poch / kane / dele / son miracle of circumstances to come together.

"get players who are near guaranteed to be successes"

Tottenham CL Final lineup:

Lloris
Trippier
Toby
Verts
Rose
Sissoko
Winks
Eiksen
Alli
Son
Kane

We don't need to try and buy the finished product, it's been proven time and again that trying to do that doesn't prove to produce a winning team. The exceptions being City and Chelsea. Liverpool's net spend this Summer had a lot to do with no transfer business last season and the sale of players this Summer enabling them to spend big.

Poch has a mixture of youth and experience throughout his time at Spurs, (you can go as far back as Nicholson to see that) and had some luck, but above all Poch had a squad committed to the cause.

I didn't see any of that at the weekend.

I think our last season at WHL we were undefeated, again mostly with the squad most who are listed above, so spending big isn't necessarily the answer.

Leicester won the PL without spending a fortune on players, they had a manager with a plan who shaped the players to his system.

Frank is no different, but needs players that are fit and additions in order to create the team he feels will be winners. One transfer window was never going to do that.

Paratici wasn't brought to the club as a window dressing exercise, he too needs time through this season to prepare the club for a busy Summer next year.

Iraola has been at Bournemouth since 2023, and only now is the club reaping his efforts to shape that team, whilst losing some quality players.

Surely every Spurs fan can see that Frank is frustrated with the players at his disposal. This squad will be turned over during the next two seasons, just like Poch did at Spurs.

We've played 4 through balls in the league this season. 4, through 10 games. Woolwich have something like 33. There is no excuse for that, nada.

We really can't moan about the strikers when they never get the fucking ball. Or if they do, it's pulling down a hoof ball out of the air, or have to drop very deep to get it. They're not being presented with nearly enough chances to be criticised.

We have absolutely no attacking strategy other than cross the ball. If teams limit corners and crosses against us, they have the easiest day ever.

So if we lost against Copenhagen, Man U, Woolwich and PSG would we be looking for a new manager ?
Think we'll draw vs Copenhagen and either draw with or lose to United. When we get back from the 126th international break this season, Woolwich will humiliate us and that'll be the end of the Frank experiment. That'd be foolish, but Spurs under ENIC ain't it.

Let's take Seymenyo for example. He's out of our reach now, but had we gone with a no nonsense 80 million in the summer we'd probably of got him.

I just don't understand it, it would of been a huge transfer for us, properly replacing Son. It was obvious he had the quality and elite skill set to be one of the top performers in the PL.

But yet we'd rather take the risk with 60 million on players who look decent, but not elite...or haven't even graced the PL.

Bournemouth sold Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, Milos Kerkez to Liverpool and Illia Zabarnyi to Paris Saint-Germain in deals worth a combined £150m, while Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan from Chelsea came to an end.

They were never going to sell Seymenyo.

That man is a buffoon. Doesn't know what he's talking about but everyone else is an idiot or not a real fan. Even though he can shit on everything else at the club, just not the manager, that's where the line is drawn.

We've given up the 14th most chances in the league. Anyone that believes we're hard to beat are straight up lying to themselves because they've blindly dig into this coach, and despite people like me who have been saying for weeks that trouble is around the corner because we've been outrageously lucky, are idiots or have an agenda.

The only agenda here is bending over backwards, making excuses for this drivel. He'll be gone in a few weeks, it's painfully obvious he's not the right for here. He might be a good coach, not here. Guaranteed the next one that comes in has them playing a semblance of football in their first game. I'll enjoy the excuses then.
