They lost their captain and got a rookie manager to boot. Much tougher circumstances than Frank has had.

It's crazy that they can be effective, almost right off the bat, but we need two seasons for it to work here? Aye, no bother. You'd think we were Brentford the way people go on here.
But the same problem is there.

I would take their frontline over our current one everyday of the week.

Bringing in Henderseon would have been great for them considering they lost their captain.

Anyway its not how you start its how you finish.

Yeah or this, both perfectly good reasons. For starting Spence.
I imagine it was a bit of both. Makes sense to manage Udogie's minutes given he's fresh back from injury and Spence is one of the best 1v1 full-backs in the league so would be a good match-up for Mbeumo.

Admittedly Mbeumo scored from the left side, but overall I think he looked less comfortable and effective than usual. If we'd just defended that one cross (bad defending by Djed ironically) then I think that decision from Amorim to shift Mbeumo across would've hurt United a lot more than it helped them.

The issue wasn't merely starting Spence, it was selecting Richarlison instead of Odobert which meant that we had no threat on the left at either LB or LW

Just sent him this via Whats App. Frank is ever so grateful for your thoughts and will be contacting you imminently to offer you an Assistant Coaching job so you can tell him and the squad in person the error of his ways.

He was genuinely excited at the suggestion of playing vertical passes as he believed this was not possible under the rules of Association Football (which he'd got mixed up with the rules of Rugger...
Pretty crap attempt at being funny, and I assume you are a fan opf another club playing at being a WUM.

All my points are valid and, judging by on here and social media, is what the majority of SPURS fans are thinking. You on the u-other hand are a WUM. Either share your own opinion (which is what a fans forum like this is about) or go do something else.

I am having serious concerns about Frank's post match comments and the fact he cannot see what we can see. I know the squad he has is not good enough and he has not had enough time. But alarming that he keeps:
  • Insisting that we played well when we were absolutely terrible for the majority of the game and created little.
  • Selecting Palhinha for home fixtures.
  • Playing a right footed Spence at LB when teams have worked out that if they press him we cannot progress the ball on that flank.
  • Ignoring the Odobert, Udogie, Simons triad when there is clearly some magic there.
  • Preferring Richy over Muani.
  • Instructing our CMs to pass sideways and not risk a vertical pass.
Yesterday we deserved to lose then somehow contrived to throw away what would have been a very lucky three points against 10 men. The vast majority of that game we were terrible. A combination of Spence on the left, Palhinha in CM, Johnson on the right and Richy up top means we are an incredibly ineffective offensively and cannot progress the ball on either flank or through the middle.

Porro is bang out of form after being overplayed for 18 months, so play Spence at RB, Udogie at LB (and make buying another LB a priority in January!). This is the type of team we should be picking at home. The game is about glory after all ...

Vicario
Spence -- Romero -- VdV -- Udogie
Bentancur
Bergvall/Sarr -- Simons
Kudus -------Muani ------- Odobert

Biggest load of shite I've ever read, and in answer to your most recent post, no your points aren't valid and aren't shared by the majority of actual spurs fans.

Get fucked you Ange fanboi weasel. You're not welcome here

Yeah I didn't love that - when I saw the lineup I thought it would be RKM on the left as he's a better 1v1 dribbler, has better ball retention, etc.

I think Odobert was also coming back from a knock so I wonder if that played into Frank's thinking a bit? Although he did say it was a tactical decision in the presser, which I think makes it a mistake as Rich on the left and Johnson on the right is a pretty horrible combo.

Basing your thinking on Spurs fans on social media isn't the best barometer fella.

"Yesterday we deserved to lose"

Can you elaborate on this false statement please.

Do people realise that he has to play a certain type of way because of the personnel available to him? Do people realise that if he attempted to play a gung-ho game we'd probably lose every game so it's a more sensible bet to start from our most reliable area which is the defence?

People think I'm in love with players like Richie and Johnson because I don't jump in with the relentless abuse and absolute over exaggerations with performance. They're both mid table premier league standard players that can offer something but ideally would be improved on. Richie has been ravaged with injury so that's not helped but yesterday he offered more than Muani first half and attempted to get involved yet the reaction when Muani got subbed....you would have thought he was on a hat trick and not the reality that he has the least amount of touches of the ball on the whole pitch. I don't like fake rage based on nothing.

Anyway Frank is obviously doing well and is balancing both competitions well but our squad is average plus we have the most injuries in the league. It's as simple as that.
Agree with paragraphs 1 and 3.

I'm feeling quite positive about Frank and this team today.
- For starters, it's obviously much better than last season and it's going to take time to organize a team that played kamikaze football for 2 years.
- Our defense is good. We're short a left back but I imagine we'll get a quality one in
- We have a lot of exciting young players to play the two central midfield positions, some combination has to click at some point
- Xavi is looking better and better and I'm sure will be the top 4 standard playmaker we've needed. And when Maddison gets back, even better.
- When Solanke and Kulusevski coming back and Muani getting up to speed, we will hopefully have seen the beginning of the end of Johnson and Richarlison at Spurs, to everyone's relief.
- I want Tel and Odobert to be understudies at this stage in their careers, but both of them are getting better with this game time
Spot on!

First of all, an opinion cannot be a false statement (nor a true one). For 70 minutes we were poor. We only improved once we has a left footed player at LB, and Palhinha was removed. All of sudden we could progress the ball through both the middle and the left flank (where both of our goals came from). We only equalised in the 84th minute, and scored our 2nd goal when they were down to 10 men.

Last 20 minutes we smashed Man U - such a shame we did not start with a better team selection. For me it is obvious that a combination of Spence at LB, Palhinha in CM and Johnson at RWF means we have ball progression limitations across the pitch. Palhinha is great away from home, or against certain opponents at home. But at home against teams that can be got at he is a hand brake. Spence is a fantastic 1 on 1 defender, but teams have worked out that he is easily pressed due to playing on his weaker side. And Johnson, unless running onto through balls or getting on the end of low crosses at the far post, offers nothing to build up play, and cannot receive the ball with his back to goal and get turned to take his opponent on - the ball just ends up back with our RB.
