Wouldn't have called Woltemade top quality, if that's considered too quality then the striker market is really fucked.

Edit or did you mean Isak? :D

Either way neither was he.
Just because the general consensus isnt that they are top quality doesn’t mean that is the case.

It’s just the job of our scouts and transfer team to recognize Isak or Woltemade as quality players.

It’s not an easy job which explains why they are shit at it.

They weren't considered top quality because they were unproven, not because they didn't have potential.

If you're talking about 'top quality' strikers for example Osimhen would be for example because he's proved he can be prolific in a big league not fucking Woltemade lol

Like it or not the fans will not put up with defensive football.
Nor will they put up with long ball , functional football.
And to date Franks football is defensive, boring and functional.

He was a ridiculous appointment in a long line of Levy's ridiculous appointments.

Perhaps you're right, perhaps 'on paper' this was a managerial move more towards the middle than the extremes, which would be a good thing for a change (if it actually worked, as you say...). I guess I'm just so distrustful of our manager recruitment process since Poch that I struggle to believe we've really thought any manager through properly, but I do see your point on this one... Fingers crossed that's what the board thought, and fingers crossed Frank delivers on it...

Oh yeah I don’t disagree on that, I’m probably giving them too much credit!

I mean this is dire, to do this against our biggest rivals too.

I actually mistakenly thought Frank would do ok and that for sure there was no way he would be worse than Ange in those two fixtures, but he has actually been worse. Unbelievable

This will need to change

starting bentancur is going to cost him his job, if he starts him against fulham we are bang in trouble, expect another disgraceful XG return.

baffled as to why its only against burnley hes shown some bollox in his selection. since then its been a midfield thats going to muster fuck all going forward, the PSG game has distorted his perception and he hasnt broken out of it.

Everyone on this site (including me) runs to the player threads after every match and point the fingers at them and saying how shit they are but looking at this you have to feel sorry for them especially the forwards.

How can you assess players like Xavi when they have to put up with this crap, same for Richy, Tel, Kudus etc...

What are our attackers supposed to do if we have no intention to attack?

I mean it might help if he started Xavi and played Tel

Agree. Bentancur needs to be out of the side, he's fucking awful. If Frank doesn't sort the selection out, and central midfield, he'll be gone soon.

The PSG game is a load of bollocks because PSG were still on holiday. Yet people have been using it as a barometer as if Frank discovered a secret formula. Sunday showed that formation is a load of bollocks, it's far too defensive.

I have to be honest and say I think Frank is making some really poor decisions. He needs to trust Gray and Bergall, because seriously, playing Bentancur is going to get us nowhere. he's isn't good enough, he never will be. He's a slow plodder in CM. The kids might turn out terrible and we keep losing, but it's worth a go or we will never know.

Palhinha has his uses, but he needs to be paired with a more dynamic CM if he's going to play.

In general I agree but - the game where Frank didn't start Bentancur and only used Palhinha in the first half we were fucking shit.
That's because it's Franks tactics. I don't rate Bentancur as a player but the reason we're not playing more vertically is because they are being instructed to sit deep in front of the backline and not make any risky through balls. This is Franks system, this is exactly how his Brentford team operated. If he had Mousa Dembele he would be telling him to play the same way.

Yep, it's why I am holding off on judging Xavi yet.

It is a real problem that we have absolutely no progression through CM, and the issue is, Frank seems to want to play this way by design.

But the problem is not that he is using the Palhinha/Bentancur combo. Would be the same outcome with other players as of now.
