Of all the wildest takes in this thread this one really takes the cake.
I don't agree that our squad is weaker but of the forward options available this season (no deki or solanke) I would take wissa, schade and mbeumo over odobert / richarlison (or muani) / Kudus.
This isn't on Frank and says everything about our lack of planning and good decisions in transfer market

This was his start at Brentford

I'd much prefer a manager that takes a while to get his ideas across and builds in to the results than one who gets like 90% of this win ration in the first 10 games of the season.

I'd have thought people had gotten over the idea of some mercurial coach flying in and just insta-winning all season, and this whole "not committing to a project" and "keep switching projects".

League position doesn't lie - Spurs were pathetic last season. It'd doesn't help saying that "the squad was too good to finish so low" when the fact is they did. The right mentality/attitude is also part the game - something that the squad lacked last season.
Where did I say I was happy finishing 16th or 17th? All I said is the we should deal with present reality and where Spurs are right now
Finishing outside top 6 is not our reality. w
Whether its 7th or 17th, both are failure.

Yes he's gaslighting the fans and that's exactly what Postecoglou did. We can not have this, the fan base despite the pikes here is too savvy for it. Stop telling us its Sauvingnon Blanc when its Sunny Delight. Tell the truth its early we are bedding in our ideas and what you see today will not be what you see tomorrow and after a few TW. I think it will be good for the squad to know some of them will not be here in the long term. Start them living with some pressure.
Bit like chavs told sterling he wont be here long term... hes still picking 300k a week for rocking up for a knock about with the reserves once a week... I dont think you get it... Frank might not fancy Bentancur but he is going nowhere. Just signed an extension through to June 2029 on 120k a week. He's going nowhere and why should he. Guaranteed 25m and very comfortable existence even if Frank says you are not in my plans. Nobody is going to pay him that sort of money even if we tried giving him away. You can say the same for a few others in the squad too.

But Thomas Frank was the wrong appointment.

He coaches dull, prehistoric football. He gives dull uninspiring interviews.
Fans are voting with their feet because they're paying elite club ticket prices to watch lower league football under a small club manager.
1000's of tickets are going unsold.
Under his short tenure he's already horribly embarrassed us against our two biggest rivals.

We need to raise our standards. You need to raise your standards. We are not Brentford fc

It's only a matter of time.
Unfair to lower league football. Most lower league sides play better football than we do.

I agree however 2 things can be true and I'd probably have more sympathy on him if he wasn't putting up these woeful attacking numbers we've been seeing lately.

You don't get the time at a club like Tottenham to have such a rough season.
Finishing 15th to 12th with a lesser club while he builds would be fine but at spurs that will get him sacked.

He needs to find a way to get the fans on board and totally buy what he's doing even if results don't go our way.

Despite arteta absolutely having some shocking results for awhile there were a lot of goons saying trust the process because they could see what he was attempting. Hence the ones calling for him to be sacked cane up with artetasexuals
Don't think Frank has shown anything to get behind so far.
But he has had just 3.5 months of competitive, really no time . Guess we all just need to bite our tongues till March/April

Arteta lasted in his job because there were no crowds, he would have been sacked after the Burnley match where they lost 1-0 at home and he had them at 14th in the league, in fact a lot of fans wanted him out even up until the 22/23 season.

I think this idea of a "rough season" is an invention so far though.

As mentioned, so far we're unbeaten in the CL, 3pts off top 4, 5 off 2nd place... all with a big injury list.

The panic seems to be because we've lost to teams in 1st and 2nd who are in a rich vein of form.

Yeah covid was a huge help for Arteta. He literally carried out the ugliest part of his rebuild during that period when they lost multiple home games but had no crowd to boo them! It makes a big difference.

No I think it's because our performances have been terrible both on the eye and statistically

It's the manner of the losses which people are taking issue with not just the losses in itself.

100%.

Losing football matches happens. Losing to Woolwich and Chelsea happens. A lot.

Having no fucking fight is the issue.

If Ange was here we’d have done that gung ho nonsense and we probably wouldn’t have lost 4-1, nor would our xG have been 0.07. We’d still have lost but at least we’d have had a go.
