The league table, after 38 games, does not lie.

This team were 17th last season for a reason.

All that has changed is that we have replaced one poor manager with another poor manager and sacked a very poor chairman.

With the exception of Palhinha, and to a lesser extent Kudus, no new player has consistently played well and the same players who let us down last season, and the season before that; are still letting us down.

This was predictable and not a suprise if you have been paying attention.

These players are not good enough.

Are you saying Vdv, Xavi, Romero, Bergvall, Gray, Spence etc are not good footballers and under different circumstances, manager, coaching regime, could not possibly perform to a higher level?
Because that's all I'm saying!
 
Yeah ticket prices are ridiculous. The product, which is mainly the football, is dreadful.

The Club, manager, players need start realising that fans are paying obscene money and getting fuck all in return.

Then you have Frank serving up dog shit football and then having a pop at the fans about atmosphere.

I mean, the fans are the lifeblood of the Club, without their financial support none of them have a pot to piss in

These two players, along with Romero, often cost Spurs goals.

Goals change games.

What we saw yesterday was Spurs defensive weakness being exposed.

What Vicario did was inexplicable.

Agree! That's why I originally, never listed Vicario.
Romero I concede is "sloppy" far to often, but we know (Internationally) how good/reliable he can be.
Porro. Play him as a wing-back if the manager sees what you see. But again I concede his form has dropped this season, which I think is due to over playing, as he is a full Spain International now.

So you point out 2 players from my original list, who maybe under a different regime might get their mojo back.
Which was the point of my original post.
 
Listen to every home crowd that lost this weekend and you'll hear boos. There was even a smattering of boos at Palace this afternoon. I don't like that it's part of modern football.. But it is. It's disproportionately reported on when it's us.. Because our players are the only ones who'd blame their prolonged poor home form on the fans.

Now I didn't like the Vicario booing at all. Singling out individuals is self defeating and when it gets to specific and personal it makes me uncomfortable.. But these players have checked out with the fans long before that, so I don't want to see them pointing at that.

They were treated very kindly last season by the way.. They threw the league before Christmas and didn't turn up nearly every week and only turned up for the glamour European cup ties. Probably an early sign that they'll never be a proper team. A team that turns up when it wants, is not a team that will ever be trust worthy.

Now the Europa League was magical.. But, they got very lucky, because if it wasn't for that cup run, they'd rightly be remembered as comfortably the worst team in our recent history. But in spite of that. Fans lined the streets to shower them with adulation.. And they loved it.. If you want the love when it goes well. You have to except the stick when you consistently take the piss out of the home fans.

Son leaving has exacerbated this. Can you imagine such open contempt for the entire fan base if he was still captain?
 
Bournemouth have only won 1 game away from home. Guess where? Fulham have only won 1 game away from home all season. Guess where? Wolves have 1 point away from home all season. Guess where?

He's on very limited time and if he thinks he has any right at all to slag off the supporters, regardless of his views he'll be done quicker than he realises.

Agree with what the fans did yesterday or not, to not completely focus on the horse shit we are seeing is inexcusable for me. 3 wins in a calendar year is NOT something Tottenham Hotspur football club should ever be experiencing.

Look closer to home for finger pointing and it won't be long before you see the true quality of the supporters of this great club. Point that finger at us and you'll soon realise it was a bad move!

I rate Spence very highly.

He is the best player on your list.

I say that for clarification.

I would have preferred if Spurs had sold Romero.

I think he is hugely over rated and not captain material at all.

Romero has played 100 league games for Spurs, in 4 full seasons, before the start of this season when he was awarded a new deal.

Does awarding a player a new contract and the captaincy, who still struggles to speak English and has averaged 25 league games a season make any sense at all?

It doesn't to me.

After 4 years we knew Romero would struggle to play in at least one third of the league games and Spurs need to be more consistent.

Of course there is hope for VDV. He has pace and a will to win.

Xavi, Bergval and Gray are nowhere near the finished article.

My opinion is that Gray is the least likely to succeed at Spurs, from what I have seen so far, and that we overpayed massively for whatever potential he has. For the fee payed Spurs need him to succeed.

Bergval I regard as the most likely to succeed as he has the confidence needed.

Xavi could go either way and under Thomas Frank I think success is less likely.
