Why do you think players turn up against City and United no matter how good or bad they are but fall apart like daisies when we play Woolwich or Chelsea. That indicates something well beyond an issue with quality.

Good point.

Beats my little brain other than there is recent experience of beating United and City, and some sense of messaging.

I just long for the day when the outcome is not decided once the fixture lists come out. Getting to the stage when I make plans on the 4 days we play filth and that lot.

Sickening.

I think his tactics are questionable but you could say that about lots of our managers

For me the real problem at THFC is player complacency, state of the art training ground , amazing stadium , a half arsed mentality from owners .

It’s too easy at Spurs , I bet if we even got that curly haired twat from Chelsea within 6 months he’d have his slippers on & wouldn’t be half the player he is

This is why we need total change at the club , from the top
And this is almost exactly what Conte said just a couple of years ago.

The draw against United wasn’t a good performance. We played well for about 20 minutes at home in the whole game. Not good enough.

Since City away, none of our performances in the league have been good.

Looking at our league games this month and on NYD:

Newcastle - definite loss
Brentford - draw
Forest - draw at best
Liverpool - even with how bad they’ve been, loss
Palace - loss
Brentford - loss

I really can’t see where the next win is going to come from. Maybe Brentford on Saturday if we are lucky but there’s a very real chance that could be languishing between 14th and 17th after NYD with no chance of qualifying for Europe

This club is dead at this point. Bored of it now. We’re just a middle management corporate club. Fans that say “we need this young manager he plays low block inverted etc etc or look at his xG” or whatever just really dont understand the club or football for that matter. It makes me cringe. This sort of thinking might work at a City or Chelsea where funds are unlimited and so is the quality in player. ButTrying to overcomplicate things to look clever is completely off the mark when it comes to understanding the fragile nature of Spurs and that “tactics” simply arent enough.

We dont need a coach. We need a father. Someone that instills fear in the players and stands his ground to the owners. Someone that understands doing the basics well and has a keen eye for a player that is going to play an important role at the club. We used to do shrewd business under redknapp. VDV, Adebayor, scott parker etc players that fit specific needs. There was no overcomplication of tactics or bullshit pseudo-intellectual football. Spending 40m on B/C level quality athletic style players that suit a brand of football that doesnt work at this club. No cult of personalities. No leaders. No football brain players.

We need someone in the Eddie Howe/Sean Dyche mould. Enough of these money managers and “tactics” managers. Ange couldnt even defend a set piece because he thought he was “above” it. The halftime therapy sessions on the pitch is a humiliation ritual and only highlights the pussy nature of the club. All shallow superficial shite

Totally agree. Our players for me look jaded and lack confidence to try anything. They play risk free football and look terrified. Without the ball there is no real aggression and desire to be a cunt. I’d say Micky is the only one who looks like he’s really at it every game.

We have to have an element of chaos in our game to create the passion and desire to hurt the other team physically and with ability. We show none of these qualities because we play such regimented boring way.

I’d love to hear what pish is spouted in the huddle before the game because they start games so badly it’s frightening. Go smash some cunt early, get a shot away early or just anything that gets the heart fucking pumping and gets fans off there seats.

Watching that game yesterday lacked lots of quality but it was two teams going after each other and wanted to hurt each other. We are too fucking nice and that comes from the individual player and comes from the manager.

You get nowhere in this game without nastiness.

Yep, we can hate those clubs all we want. From minute 1, that was a real fight. Jose said it when he arrived.
"You guys are too nice ", or words to that effect.

Conte called out the blatant lack of willingness to suffer.

Frank, in my view, is a nice guy, maybe a decent coach, but uninspiring. How he doesn't get the players up for a game against Fulham at home after the piss-poor results to the scum and Chavs is telling.

4th highest net spend over last 5 years. We back our managers.

(They spent £15m this summer)
We don’t back them properly. Money spend doesn’t equate to backing.

Our wage bill is the true indicator of this.

We buy potential or punts, rarely proven players. And when we do go for proven, we tent to overpay massively. On no planet are Richarlison or Solanke £65m players. On no planet is Gray a £40m talent. On no planet is Johnson £50m as we will see when we either try to sell him, or if he leaves on a free because nobody wants him.

We’ve wanked over half a billion on players that wouldn’t get into any top 4 team, bar possibly Micky and when he feels like it, Romero.

I don't really understand why this has descended into a "Frank or Ange" thread.

Ange was shit and had to go.
HAD. TO. GO.

Frank might not work out.
He won't be any worse than Ange.
He might turn it around and be better.
He too might need to be replaced.

People seem to treat football managers like life partners.

And this is almost exactly what Conte said just a couple of years ago.

So what.

Conte and now Frank pick the team.

It is for both to instil the right strength of mentality

I don't accept t.

Excuses galore. Managers and coaches are paid handsomely to deliver. If they don't then.....

Frank isn't giving us what we expected nd as I have been saying, it's the home form that will do for him. No question at all.

I’m 100% sure Glasner would not be moaning if we swapped summer transfer incomings with Palace.

£15m to spend or £150m to spend. One is clearly better than the other.

After the weekend when Frank created the narative of True Spurs fans he is done for me. You saw Pedro Porro latch onto it in his non apology. Vicario does his 5th or 6th Fuck Up of the season proving how terribly average he is and they don't expect a reaction from the crowd. This team do not deserve to wear the badge on their shirt which is incredible because they are pretty much the same team that won us a trophy 6 minths ago.

Yup , there’s a big problem at the club & has been for a long time & I’m not sure there’s an easy fix bar new owners

Obviously we’ll see if ENIC mean what they say in the next few windows but I don’t really believe them
IMO this is what happens when you hire like a big club without winning things. As much as people champion against this point, players will have less motivation to win if they're already getting paid top money. I believe this is part of the reason why we used to be more heavy on the bonus structure.

You can have managers that drop players who don't perform, but it hardly made a difference with the likes of Lo Celso and Ndombele.

You have to then look at scouting/signing players who have the right attitude, which also won't sit well with fans who will be unhappy about not signing their choices - but, as per the point above, there are players who we could sign that wouldn't perform the same way here as they would at Chelsea etc.

Maybe the answer is to get an authoritarian manager and just back him no matter what. I think, on some level, that is the route Man Utd are taking with Amorim

We were the bookies favourites from day one. Between us and United we were the strongest teams in the competition. Winning it is incredible but look at the damage it’s cost to do so.

A culture of losing and a team divided from the fanbase.
