I don't want to pile in on every little detail just because he's under pressure. But I found the celebration from him when we pulled one back yesterday to be disconcerting. A huge gutturall roar. Maybe save that level of delirium for an equaliser, or preferrably a winner. But when it's just one goal back. Perhaps just a quick applause followed by a shout to get back to the half way line.

The same thing when Palhinha scored the equaliser at home against Wolves, one of the worst teams in league history. Frank and his coaches celebrated like they were in mission control after a successful moon landing.

It seems pedantic, but when you're questioning whether someone is "big time" enough for the job, these details matter.

Now I know for sure you are not serious... go through each squad player vs player and tell me who is better. I'll tell you what I'll make it easier... who would you want from each of those teams in our squad and dont say Guehi. He wouldn't get in our team in front of Romero or VDV and not sure he's any better than Danso. I'd take Wharton and that's about it. And no, Mateta is no better than Richarlison. They both have 7 goals this season. As for Brighton, maybe Baleba but again but think many are overeating him. And if we even thought about buying Welbeck everyone would be up in arms. Honestly, absolute nonsense if you think either of those squads are better than ours. They both have better managers and thats it.

Henderson over Vicario.

Munoz over Spence and Porto.

Guehi over Romero, but not Van de Ven.

Mitchell over Spence and Udogie.

Wharton over literally any of our midfielders. Granted, Hughes, Kamada etc probably not better.

Sarr over any of our left wingers, and certainly over Johnson. Kudus maybe 50/50.

Mateta IS better than Muani, Richarlison and Solanke.

I think so many of our players look far superior to how they do now if they are in a different team/managerial system

I think Frank is sucking the life out of them

And I dont think they really know what they're supposed to be doing under him

A lot of the same players also had the life sucked out of the with with Nuno. Mourinho. Conte. Ange.

All different types of managers with different levels of experience.

At some point you’ve got to ask . . .

It's a fair point... I'd not thought about it to much but combined with everything else it does leave you thinking he's small time.

Just thinking about this more today, what a disaster Frank has been so far.

Yes we had a shocker of a PL season last year, but it was a freak season so we thought. We'd just won the Europa, season finished on a high. We made some big investments, we have quite a talented squad, at least top 8 on paper.

All Frank had to do was build on that positivity, get the players going in a decent style of football, pick up some results, make sure the underlying data was looking positive, but the staggering thing is, it's even worse than Ange.

And Ange was absymal, but even he had to make do without VDV and Romero for months on end, playing Davides, Dragusin and Gray at CB. Frank hasn't had that issue, yes people can say Maddison and Kulu have been injured, but Ange had to make do without Maddison for a while also, both him and Kulu and Solanke had injuries last season too.

So I am sorry but whichever way you look at it, it's paints a really grim picture for the job Frank is doing. I just can't understand it. Yes he's not an elite manager, but I thought he would at least have us competitive, well coached, solid, and he would make sound decisions tactically, but it's been way worse than anyone could have feared.

Yes I know the players we have are dumb at times, and we have some shocking players, but generally the squad is a competitive squad.

We've all seen countless examples of the difference a manager can make. When we had Santini and brought in Jol, instant improvement. When we bought in Harry after Ramos, the improvement. Emery at Villa, Dyche at Forest, so many examples of what an imapct a manager can make.

There's no two ways about it, Frank is failing big time. To be so poor in all the underlying data says it all.

The only question left is, how long do the club leave him in place before making the decision? Do they risk us being dragged into a relegation battle?

Talk on here about the mentality of the club. How it seeps down from up on high. So, who is to blame? Scholar? Sugar? Levy? Lewis? One of the new mob? It’s been happening for decades now. Are they all to blame?

Maybe it’s us. We should be in the top half a dozen sides in the league and top dozen in Europe. But we should not expect more, just because our ticket price is high. There’s just no correlation there. Rich is rich and it’ll take more than an extra tenner a ticket to close the gap.

And we are a bit weird as a fanbase. We won a cup last season and it’s constantly derided as a second class trophy. An easy one to win. We didn’t have to play against 1970 Brazil. The centre half chose the tactics. We look down upon real achievement.

We celebrated when the manager of that team got fired. Celebrated when the Chairman got the same treatment. We’ll celebrate when we sell the captain of the side and also when we sell the scorer of the winning goal.

And we’ll point to last seasons really weird abortion of a league campaign and say Frank is doing better. How about he does better than Ange’s first season? We say all will be well when the future Balon d’Or winners Maddison, Kulu and Solanke come back.

Maybe the majority of players are self entitled lazy cunts and the winners are the ones who have a manager who they’ll run through walls for.

Whatever it is, our fanbase should be examined by experts. We aren’t right in the head.

And people would be moaning and crying he wasn't celebrating.

Henderson over Vicario. NO. BOTH ARE POOR.

Munoz over Spence and Porto. MAYBE A PUSH AT BEST BUT NOT AN UPGRADE

Guehi over Romero, but not Van de Ven. COME ON... GUEHI MASSIVELY OVERRATED NO BETTER THAN DANSO

Mitchell over Spence and Udogie. YOURE CLUTCHING AT STRAWS NOW.

Wharton over literally any of our midfielders. Granted, Hughes, Kamada etc probably not better. YES I WILL GIVE YOU WHARTON.

Sarr over any of our left wingers, and certainly over Johnson. Kudus maybe 50/50. I LIKE SARR BUT HE IS NOT AN UPGRADE ON KUDUS.

Mateta IS better than Muani, Richarlison and Solanke. NO HE ISN'T. RICHARLISON HAS SCORED AS MANY MATETA.

Post above - hmmmmm....

Guehi gets in before both Romero and Van De Ven. It's not even in question. One of either partners him.

Whatton walks into our first team, and because of his physicality and power, so does Mateta, although I think none of the 4 strikers are that good.

And Henderson gets in ahead of Vicario for sure.

The left back at Palace unless Van De Ven moves there.

The rest ours probably.
Are you having some sort of ‘Fight Club’ weird dual personality thing going on?! 😂

Palace are struggling and you also wonder how they would cope if Guehi left in January. Not just a very good defender but a proper leader, as is Wharton, which is why whoever buys him gets 2 sets of qualities for the price of one purchase.

On us I need to be fair snd say I don't think any player can look good in a team that's playing badly. Those who go on about Van De Ven are excusing his mistakes.

I don't, however see anythjng that resembles a system or a set of players who are clear about what is being asked of them.

What I do see is a manager who is obviously under pressure, as any would be after a poor set of results and someone who doesn't look as though he has the tools, even if he had our full squad available to him.

I am surprised by Frank's showing to date, and I think he has 2 games to go, and if not, it's only a short stay of termination.
They lost Eze last minute in the summer window though and don’t seem to be missing him much , what worries me is with Ange it was always “wait till he has players back fit” then it made no difference in the end , it was the system that was wrong ; I’m not even sure what the system is with Frank - what’s the end goal with everyone fit and his own players, I thought by now we would be seeing some positive signs and how he wants us to play
