Agree, I'd rather keep our powder dry and just clear the lot out.

Lange's recruitment has been shocking. He cannot be trusted to be overseeing our manager and player recruitment, he's a gimp.
Mixed in with Moore and LWB (once integrated with our current crop) - i think his youth recruitment will end up being viewed positively. We just need a manager with the minerals to blood them in an attacking (tinged with realism) style......

Hi mate. Merry Christmas 🎅

I notice you've changed your profile pic.

Didn’t recognise you, lol 😂

So you're not Ange 'IN' anymore then?

I wasn't Ange in for ages. I also was not onboard with the Frank signing when we first got rumoured for him.... but I tend to support the team and those involved when they are representing us.

I see we are doing badly, and your post count has gone up by an infinite amount. Who would have guessed that?

I had a look through the last how many pages of this thread and there’s not really much that hasnt been said.

The only point that I can add is that it’s pretty wild to see the character of the squad being given as the reason this coaching team are struggling.

If you want to question the technical ability in the squad, or the level of experience and readiness, I’m 100% hearing your argument and any sane Spurs fan should imo.

But this squad has always had plenty of character. Romero and VDV in that Europa final didn’t show character? Newcastle away just a week or so ago with Romero single-handedly rescuing a point wasn’t character ?

How many times during the Ange era would they go behind to a sucker punch from following Ange’s uber-aggressive tactics and then find a way to come back?

They have character, what they are missing right now is team spirit and any kind of ideas for how they are meant to play. There was a simple idea of get it wide ASAP and spam crosses or set pieces but that was never producing much and now produces nothing.

Which is fair enough if we had different form last season, but it's actually an improvement on last season.

In the last calendar year (since 22 Dec 2024), we've P38 W10 D7 L22 for a grand total of 37 points.

Under Ange, that was P21 W4 D3 L15 = 15 points out of 63, or 0.71 ppg (27 points over a season)
Under Frank, it is P17 W6 D4 L7 = 22 points out of 51, or 1.3 ppg (49 points over a season)

I know there will be lots of claims it was somehow intentional from Ange, but fuck me if anyone is trying to pretend we weren't total dogshit under the man. the idea of attacking and winning games is far into the distance past of his tenure

Honestly, my point was not to praise Ange. I was saying that we would get in trouble following Ange ball and go behind to a sucker punch on the break or a cross the back post.

But we’d regularly see the character in the squad to come back into games. We saw characters in the EL final, we saw it vs Newcastle the other week and even Liverpool..,

Character can get you through a rough game or 2 when you aren’t playing well. People are expecting character to replace a coherent way of playing every week, then saying the players lack character when they can’t win every week on will power alone.

Yeah I agree I think they do show character, but it's not consistent. They look like they can't really be arsed most games, but then will find it when they're 2-0 down.

It is almost like they're running on some kind of mental fatigue from last season.

37 pts from 38 games is just mind boggling. Worse than anything we did in the 90s/early 00's. I still dont think its sunk in to many fans what a state we're in, seems a lot of denial. I think 37 pts this season will have you very close if not hitting that 3rd relegation spot. Think we'll likely pick up a bit once out of the CL and get around mid to late 40 pts but its still pretty bleak.

Yeah, they have got some fight in them, which we need to see because we can play manager merry-go-round until even our enemies get bored of laughing, but at some point we're going to trust a process that actually works.

I don't think we've given it nearly enough time. Get a couple of good players in in Jan and we'll see an uptick.

Unlike with Ange, where I 'hoped' he'd pull it back, I 'think' Frank will pull it back. He just seems more credible and intelligent and I like a good process as much as the next nerd. TBF, I actually thought Ange was a good speaker and I liked his jib, but he was only going to build a super team if he got iniesta and messi and co. in their prime.

Frank has tactical flexibility* and emotional stability (would be nice if he screamed blue murder sometimes, but it's not strictly necessary), he's calm and erudite and we need a steady hand that understands how to grow a dynamic team, not just a plan A.

*yeah, it's part of the problem for now, but they'll either learn to adapt or we'll find players who will.

As for any replacements, it's just grass-is-greener bullshit, you CANNOT know if they'd be better, because you don't really know what the problem is, just what it might be. Give him a couple of seasons, if the players see we blame the manager and not them, we're just yet again teaching them that they don't have to take responsibility.

Apparently it’s the least home wins in a calendar year in our history. If that doesn’t ring alarm bells I don’t know what will.

I know Frank will take a lot of the flack from recent performances (rightly or wrongly) but taking a step back and looking at our current squad it's unbelievable how far we've regressed.

A few here saying we've not replaced the quality lost from Son & Kane, but I don't think it's even close. How many of our current wide options (bar maybe Kudus) would get in ahead of some of the other players we've had over the years e.g Lamela, Moura.. maybe even Bergwign?

These next two windows are vital, if we don't bring in the profiles we need we could be looking like a mid table side for the forseeable.

I haven't had the inclination to read this thread for a while now. It's tough enough being a supporter at the moment without having to hear the various excuses why we're doing so badly.
So disappointed in Frank's tenure so far, I wasn't expecting to set the world alight but it's dire football, apart from the odd game. We're so easy to beat, I thought he was supposed to be some sort of tactical wizard.
I don't know if replacing him at this stage will be a good idea, as the recruitment team don't exactly fill me with confidence to get it right this time.

None of our starters with the exception VDV wouldn't get into any of the top clubs... maybe Romero? That is it...Ceiling is low. We need to reload.

Let's see how we do after the Jan window. A couple of signings can do wonders.

That's a balanced view.

How long does one wait for any manager, and what, aside from the obvious results changing, is there to convince?

Like you I did not expect anything spectacular but I did have reason to see improvement from last year's PL dross. It's nowhere to be seen. Nothing is better to my eyes.

So, are you solely against changing the manager because you don't like the idea of sacking him so soon, or because you have evidenced reason for believing Frank will find the answers?

I wasn't Ange in for ages.
