The people suggesting we "should get Ange back" are a tiny percentage that you are making a massive straw man out of.

The point is that you are now making the kinds of excuses for Frank that you never once extended to the previous manager - how can you expect anyone to take you seriously when you have zero consistency in you approach?

Just admit you were wrong to suggest there was a managerial silver bullet that would fix everything that went wrong last season

And ffs stop diminishing the one truly great thing that came out of last season. It just makes you look so weird.

Who do you think you're arguing against here?

I wasn't even on here for a good 5 year period of Mourinho to the sacking of Postecoglou, so this whole "you were wrong" "you never once" is just as bonkers as the rest of your overly-personal defence of the incompetent aussie.

I see the Derangers have gone from “any half decent manager will have us flying up the table” to “14th is better than we should have expected” :roflmao:

The fucking chutzpah of you people is next level. I genuinely admire it - or I would if you hadn’t been such incessant nasty bullies all last season.

It’s now very very clear who the “cultists” were - and it ain’t those who just wanted to stick by the manager for once. This is next level gaslighting from the same fucking clowns who continue to diminish our European trophy win because they’re so obsessed with winning some sort of battle over the last manager.

So desperate… and desperately sad.

Another manager will get us up the table .. Frank hasn’t worked. The appointment has failed. We should be doing a lot better.

It doesn’t impact Ange being even more terrible (22 losses, outshined by Dyche at Forest) - it just means another coach has failed.

The most worrying thing is : the clowns minus Levy who chose Frank will pick the next manager.
Hopefully Levy was driving the appointment - a parting gift.

Frank has done exactly what waa said on the tin. Turned us into Brentford.

DId anyone see the segment on the Liverpool game, the last 5 minutes were played, and yes Liverpool lost their heads and we were all over them, but our tactics were pathetic.

Just pumping crosses into the box for VDV to head away. That is Frank's football. It is utter dogshit.

Near half a season update on through balls for those interested, which has been a matter of discussion and bewilderment here. Let's start with the definition because simply posting numbers would be pointless if not disingenuous without knowing what they're referring to:

Not super clear admittedly, but still enough to allow us to create a mental image of some sort I reckon.

As a side note, assuming that Keith Andrews has largely kept intact what he inherited from Frank, it's interesting to see how low Brenford are also ranked there.

It would be a reach to call this a pattern with Frank and his teams based on this data alone, but there could be something there to take a deeper look at.

We just dont get far enough up the pitch or have anyone willing to play them. Bizarre numbers. I wonder what our usual seasonal average is.

Bentancur cheap shot didn’t look good either!

The Liverpool game was a strange one, but getting lost in all the discussions of the weirdness that went on is the fact that Spurs went toe to toe with one of the best teams in the world and didn't back down. Just as the Forest game said something about where the team is at, so did the Liverpool match. Inconsistent young squad that is putting things together. Maybe it's the holiday season, but I'm not in the mood for doom and gloom. I think things are slowly coming together and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. Who knows, maybe a few presents under the tree in the transfer window, too.

Is your point that Ange was bad so that’s why Frank is the man for Spurs?

I understood keeping Ange because he had the belief in the squad to win the EL and this club needed a trophy.

Also understood sacking him because he was clearly not the man to take us up a level in the league.

Frank is his own man separate to Ange and the only questions we need to ask are:

1. Has he got the squad believing they can win trophies stay up this season?

2. Is he the right man to take the team up a few levels so we can challenge for the league again?
FIFY

He has to go. How many games are Richie or muani missing sitters?
None. We don’t attack enough to create.
After 17 League games Anges team let in two goals less than franks team deposit not having a keeper or two centre backs for long periods

I wouldn’t even give him the credit of replacing Dembele with Sissoko mate.

Pochettino moulded Sissoko into a serviceable CM through sheer coaching, patience and persistence.

Sissoko was signed in a panic by Levy as a right sided attacker in the summer of ‘16, as he had failed to sign all other targets in that position, the main one being Sadio Mane.

As you quite rightly point out, Pochettino had no input in signing Sissoko, and in his own words “Daniel thought he was a player I could maybe get something from.”

Sissoko was a mostly awful player that was not only forced on Pochettino, but ended up having to be our main man in central midfield for a number of season due to the gross incompetence of ENIC and the recruitment team.

No, it was the exact same thing back on here at this point with Poch tbh. The main difference is he had better players, with Kane having emerged for a start:
Yup. Strambouli, Kaboul, Chadli, Soldado - world beaters when he walked through the door

In fairness there’s still time for Frank to be as bad as Ange. He worse at the same point of the season and if he continues like this then it will be worse but without a trophy at the end. Unless anyone is suggesting that we are winning the CL or FA Cup this year?

But they are separate managers, doing separate things. We had to move on from Ange, it hasn’t worked but that’s how it goes sometimes. The next guy might work really well.
