In the end, if he finishes this season in the bottom half it would be considered a failed season. Sack would be inevitable...
It's an interesting question, well two questions really:
1. In July, what end-of-season league position would people have considered the difference between success and failure for Frank?
2. And what about right now? (if it's different - I don't think it is for me, or certainly not much - perhaps I'll allow him 2 positions leeway due to having no Dom, Kulu or Mads for so long)

For me, given the squad he has at his disposal, I'd say 10th or above would be reasonably successful as long as there are positive signs in the actual play and performances (would have been 8th with a full squad). 11th or lower would be unacceptable. I know they are relatively arbitrary numbers, and I know other factors definitely come into play (for example, our stats, xG etc, being either staying very low or gradually improving etc) but I wonder where 'the line' is for others. (And of course that line might be in a totally different place for the Board).

Finishing 10th or above would let him keep his job for another year to see if he can build on and improve. Management needs to back and sign some good players. If we can't work with that then its over but I still have faith in him.

I mean for the most part, it starts off with stupid opinions like from candrews of "We should just apologise to Ange and get him back" or other Postecoglou simps trying to suggest he should have been kept.

For the most part though, the real point is that you don't just "reset" a team every season like some american draft system. The performance of this team needs to be considered relative to the team that it is. You don't take a team that finished 17th with 22 league defeats and magically expect it to be winning the title the next season - the 'progress' has to be measured against that
I think you are wrong. Under a competent coach this team should be comfortably in the top 7 or 8 and competing for top 4 or 5. After all we went from 5th to 17th so surely the reverse can occur?

I got this horrid feeling we ain't see the last of him. The stadium is his mausoleum. ENIC own 86.58% of the club with 13.42% owned by minority shareholders. Of the 86.58%, Levy owns 29.88% so approximately 25.87% of the club is still owned by Levy. It is not beyond the realms of possibility for Levy to partner with someone like Amanda Staveley and the Qatari's to regain ownership of the club from the Lewis Trust. Much like a bad movie where you think the villain has been killed off... but at the start of sequel, he somehow survived being shot 100 times, put through a industrial cement mixer and fed to pigs.
Tbh if he came back as some kind of partner with Amanda under a Qatari ownership I wouldn't be against it.
If the Qatari's come to Spurs, they're coming to win. Not to make up the numbers and milk the gravy train like we've been doing for the last 25 years.

5th or above - stay
6th or 7th - ok but short leash
8th or below - sacked

This is not relative to Frank. It's relative to anyone managing Spurs in a full season who had a full pre season and spent 200m in the transfer window.

I get he needs to be positive but saying there were any positives to take from Forest hammering is insulting to fans in so many ways.
I can't wait till he's binned off, he's so fucking small time. Brentfords Graham Potter

There's something called 'Toxic Positivity' and he absolutely exudes it.

If he'd come out and said

"That performance was totally unacceptable for Tottenham Hotspur. I am ashamed and the players should be ashamed of what we saw today"

He would have got a lot more respect from the fans and more than likely more respect from the players themselves.

The "comfortable top 7 or 8" is literally 4 points above where we are now.

Those 4 points could be as simple as Vicario kicking the ball away instead of hospital passes

We finished 5th the year before with a similar squad if not worse. You are delusional if you think 10th is acceptable. Is it fuck. Sack him now because it’s not going to get better
That is why Ange got his 2nd year despite ending the season on a terrible note. If Frank ends this season with us playing good football then we need to see what he can do the following season. Our fanbase expect too much when we don't even have the squad to do it. Remember Son was a huge part of our success in and out of the field and he is not here anymore.
