All it takes is one quality signing in midfield and we will look much better imo. But it has to HIGHLY quality. Someone to have the kind of impact say Xhaka has had on Sunderland. A string puller with vision etc...

While I agree one quality signing can make all the difference - I don't think it will under Frank.

His intentions just aren't there to play flowing football. Just as I don't think he'd really know what to do with that player anyway.

The one quality signing I'd like to see is a new manager, that could be a game changer

🚨 FRANK HAS NO INTEREST IN THIS PROFILE OF PLAYER 🚨

1) signs Palhinha
2) Bentancur Extension
3) Goretzka interest

Norgaard was his holding midfielder at Brentford.

This is what Frank is. You can’t wish it away.

The realisation hit me this morning while out sunning my perineum that if we had prime Sonny on the left and Kane up front we would probably be top of the league right now.

We are in a league where Richarlison and Calvert Lewin are in the top 6 scorers. WTAF.
And Brentford and Bournemouth players are positions 2&3.

No doubt Frank is just the right man at the wrong time.
Give him the proper tools and he’s in the right place.

Thing is, if we were hard to beat, saw proper fight from the lads, and could register an xG above 0.25 more often...I could stomach Frank and give him more time.

After all, he's taken over a club where losing has become the norm the past 4 or 5 seasons, that would've gotten relegated last season if the teams below us weren't even shitter. That takes time to undo and turn around, let's be real.

If we were showing more guts and picking up more points, I'd be okay with us not playing sexy football for a little while longer. But Frank's problem is, his football is utterly atrocious and we've only managed 25 points in 18 games.

Exactly. We are getting points in spite of the players and manager, not because of them essentially.

They aren’t busting their bollocks off are they. 8 days off. They should be fresh as fuck.

I think Frank is from the Mourinho school.
As in, even at his best - its winning but its not fun or pretty

Tottenham and Tottenham fans are a funny breed (I know I am)
This guy isn't right for us, I seen enough of this guy he has only one way. He has nice hair and seems like a pleasant chap but I can't pay good money and watch this anti football for much longer.
I'm personally giving him this window and the season to see a basic attempt from Frank to play some decent football or I'm fully on the pochetino train for next season
This guy isn't right for us,,,,,, Conte isn’t right for us, Mourinho isn’t right for us, Postecoglou isn’t right for us, Tomas Frank isn’t right for us , Nuno Espírito Santo isn’t right us for the love of Jesus there’s a common denominator here ………guess what that is???????

It was a welcome 3 points because we so desperately needed then.

But let's be honest, the performance was gruelling and any other outcome against that Palace team in such circumstances would have been unthinkable.

Frank deserves zero credit for that result yesterday

If Postecoglou had been a bit more organised he could have been a perfect fit for us. His philosophy was to play open, attacking, winning football. He just wasn't great at delivering that philosophy in the Premier League. A pity really. After a great start it all fell apart, but at least we won something again, and for that I will always be grateful to him.

If Frank had us on 30-36 pts, even playing that atrocious brand of his, many of us would let him off the hook cause we'd understand that at this stage it's all about giving the club that winning feeling again, after so many years of utter trash.

30-36 pts isn't that outlandish when we played Wolves/Bournemouth/United/Fulham at home...should 100% have picked up more than 2 pts from them games. Even Villa, Chelsea & friggin Liverpool we lost by only one goal, so with more effort & belief from the coaching & playing staff, points were there for the taking.

Away from home, that defeat at Forest should never have happened, Dyche effect or not. You gotta be able to go and get a point.

We just needed a more sensible version of Ange.

Democratic Socialism, not full blown Marxism.

The Frank’s, Nuno’s and Mourinho’s will never work for us.

Our best football post-Poch has been Conte’s first season and Ange’s first 10 games. That is what we should be striving towards as a club.

Frank isn’t a winner, he’s a mid-table floor raiser and it shows in his approach.

But he's working with a squad that, 90% of them, have been told it's ok to lose to those teams. A whole season of 22 losses means that we walked away with a loss in almost 2 out of 3 games.

Not only that, but at the end of that, they got a trophy and a parade.

You don't fix that kind of mentality issue so easily. You also risk condoning their mindset by getting rid of a manager so swiftly, too.

IMHO he needs to just start dropping or selling poor performers and making that point, but I can see how that's currently an issue with Bissouma already in the freezer and 3 key injuries in our midfield/attack

It seems like a bunch of supporters of this club would rather play champagne football and lose 5-3 every week like we did last year than win 1-0 and be defensively sound.

Last night when I was watching I had this feeling that Palace were like the back end of Ange season 1. Loads of possession and intent but zero end product. Whereas we were like the back end of Conte when teams knew his automation and we were painfully easy to predict but defensively solid enough to thieve points now and then.

The reality is that fans don’t want to be either of those things.

3 points were a welcome feeling at the end of the game and Odobert was fun against tired legs.

Was there really much sign of progress, though?

If there was, it was the tiniest of small green shoots. Let’s hope it grows before Brentford because they are in form and will probably give us a hiding if we play the same.

Yesterday’s result was great and if we had done that under different circumstances we’d all be delighted with it. If we had gotten better results and performances against the likes of Wolves,Man Utd,Fulham and even Forest away then that’s the type of away performance that can keep the momentum going.
Yesterday covered the cracks because we were poor again and we are delaying the inevitable. I’m delighted we won as it moves us into a position if we can somehow pick up a couple of wins in the next two games then we will be sitting in a good position again. What it doesn’t do is hide the fact we are a turgid watch.
