It's hard to nearly impossible to believe the players are enjoying what Frabk is offering, both in his tactics, such as they are, and strategic intent.

It's never personal but I want to be able to talk of a team with a defined identity. I don't see it, so I can't even talk to it.

Right now the team looks like a fraud, and that sits with one person and one person only. 4 months is long enough to set an outline.

4 months is a long time and for us to still have no identity is criminal for me. I still see nothing that makes me think it’s improving. For 20 mins against Liverpool and yesterday was players giving there all but that’s a pre requisite for a footballer and a team. The bare minimum should always be what we saw yesterday but there needs to be more.

The standard is poor through the league as the table shows. For us to be only 4 points of a champions league place if 5th gets that is ludicrous considering we have been so bad.

A good manager would have us closer where Villa is. We could salvage this season if we go and get a manager capable of managing our club. We won’t though and we’ll finish mid to bottom half.

What we’ll get is people forgetting how bad we’ve been because we won yesterday and think we should just hang in there with Frank because he might turn it around. He won’t and we’ll make the mistake of waiting till we have fuck all to play for.

But he's working with a squad that, 90% of them, have been told it's ok to lose to those teams. A whole season of 22 losses means that we walked away with a loss in almost 2 out of 3 games.

Not only that, but at the end of that, they got a trophy and a parade.

You don't fix that kind of mentality issue so easily. You also risk condoning their mindset by getting rid of a manager so swiftly, too.

IMHO he needs to just start dropping or selling poor performers and making that point, but I can see how that's currently an issue with Bissouma already in the freezer and 3 key injuries in our midfield/attack
He could contribute to that mentality by stopping his approach of behaving like every team is superior to us. He’s part of the issue.

Yep, I agree but my own view is that I wouldn't mind Silva or Glasner of the current PLmanagers. Neither excites but I think Silva plays a more aggressive style of football but tbat might be because Frank has been so disappointing. I did also call for Silva as an option in the summer to be fair.

We are in a real trough of quality on 3 or 4 fronts in my opinion.

Quality of managers
Quality of strikers
Overall quality of teams
General level of excitement.

Overall paucity is saving the likes of Frank and Amorim to a large extent, and Iraola.

100% agree. Mediocrity is more widely accepted as if it’s brilliant. Players get lauded for doing the basics and working hard. Fuck that. Managers get lauded for winning a few games. The only managers that should get lauded with praise this season is the three that are in charge of the top three. The rest are much of a muchness.

As for strikers, there’s very few in world football that get you off your seat if any. I watch Osimhen and he’s one that gets you excited because he’s up and at em and Halaand is the same but not because they are class in terms of ability but just effective at what they do.

I still believe he will be successful here and it's not just blind faith tbh.

We have the best away record in the league and that's not to be sniffed at. In previous seasons we were an absolute soft touch away from home but this season he has sorted it and we are, generally speaking, quite hard to beat away from home. People say they see no improvement but that's an absolutely massive improvement and a welcome change.

At home we are poor though but in theory it should be an easier task sorting out a teams home from. Of course it could potentially go the other way around where our away from suddenly goes to shit but I don't believe that his brand of football can lead to a drastic downfall in away results meaning if he is allowed to bring in the players he obviously wants (a progressive CM and a direct LW) as well as Kulu and Maddison actually being options, think he can make us very successful.

Next 2 games we should be winning , no excuses really - yesterday was a shit performance but we won , if we can follow that up with another couple of results then all good, however I’m sure I have said this several times already this season :ange-hands-head:

Watching Glasner on the sidelines yesterday didn't remind me of a successor to the throne.....any knee jerk replacing at this point with a dearth of suitable candidates available is highly unlikely.

It looks like we will have to stumble our way to the season end and see who's got the cojones to drink from the poisoned chalice because I believe TF may have had his fill.

Its going to be an odd season, up and down the league. 5/6 points more from winnable games (Wolves H, United H) we'd be 5th right now. for sure...If buts and maybes were pots and pans, we'd all be tin merchants.

Away form is great, one thing that has always stood out in the 30+ yrs following Spurs is we are horrible on the road and a soft touch, so its good that is the other way so far with TF. I don't particularly care if we grind out 1-0 wins with crap away from home regularly.

At home, we need a clear style and progression, its been horrible to watch. TF also needs better quality players that make a different to the starting 11, we don't have enough of those - hence why he is been playing Gray, Odobert, Bergvall, Tel - these guys are the finishers, not the starters at this moment in their careers. This could take a while.

His problem is that if we did somehow scramble up to 5th playing like we did yesterday it would still feel wrong.

Nonsense... no professional turns up to lose and they weren't told it's okay to lose. They lost because our strongest team rarely set foot on the field... Nobody said it was okay and rightly so the manager was sacked.
