Do you honestly not?

22 games lost last season, finishing 17th, and in the bottom half, after half a season, this time around.

Why would anyone think otherwise?

I watched Forest and Leeds over the weekend.

They both played better football than Spurs and are currently below us.

Vicario and Porro are very poor and so are a few others in the current starting 11.

Kane and Son carried this team and wasted their careers doing so.

Squad is full of wasters and we are now managed by a bottom half manager.

I do wonder sometimes, with the training ground being so state of the art etc.
Many of the players are too comfortable, they are there to work. Yet it looks like a holiday complex.
There are too many going through the motions including the board.

It's Levy's empire isn't it?

He surrounded himself with his mates and built it in his own image.

Rode roughshod over a generation of Spurs supporters to achieve it and has left a basket case behind.

If ENIC are smart they will either sell the club or do the opposite of what Levy has done.

Spurs need to bring in 2-3 top quality players in the next 3-4 windows to repair the damage done by Levy.

The days of jam tomorrow need to be consigned to the dustbin.

Quality now.

As supporters we must demand this going forward.

Qualified for CL 6 times in the last 10 years. Have only qualified 7 times entirely.

These people need to learn to do a bit of fact checking. I knew 8 of 10 in the CL was wrong off the top of my head.

A nice bit of Christmas pub drink talk isn’t it. There’s always that one nutty old boy.

Along with

I could knock out that Anthony Joshua in 5 rounds.
And then beat Rory Makerel at golf.
Then if you gave me a fishing rod I would probably catch a shark.

Course you would grandad.

Players who are in their prime would make a difference, but we refuse to pay those wages and fees.
I fear more youngsters are on the horizon, polish them up and wait 5- 6 years to see if the project works.

Agreed and it says recent history. 7 finals ago was Blackburn in the league cup in 2002. Hardly recent history. We've been rotten since Poch and that team broke up, the last 6 seasons is recent history and we've finished 6th, 7th, 8th and 17th. The first 3 of those plus the 4th under Conte were pretty much due to Kane and Son. Gone out of cups to Norwich, Sheff Utd, Zagreb, Middlesbrough, Forest, Fulham. Not saying Frank is the answer because he isnt but trying to lay all this on him is just agendas.

You could have said the same about Villa though , recently promoted yet got a good manager in and they are in the top 3, yet we are meant to think that Frank is some master tactical genius as he kept Brentford firmly mid table.
Even Glasner , come to palace and won the FA cup and Charity shield , yet Brentford under Frank won fuck all.
Villa is like that after years of stability. It’s Emery’s 4th season.

Glasner winning an FA cup is certainly impressive but is not the norm at all. How many mid table clubs outside Crystal Palace have a trophy?

Expecting Brentford to be winning trophies is not realistic.

How many seasons did Frank have at Brentford though? I’m not saying they should have won trophies , however if TF is such a good manager like we are being led to believe then surely he could have done better at Brentford then finishing Mid table?
Even Nuno got Nottingham Forest into Europe, yet TF is such a good manager but we can’t expect more than getting Brentford to finish Mid table

I thought Ange was dumb and very close minded I still do. But Frank has supprised me in how unimaginative he has been with the squad use. I mean he hasn't had the windows to shape his squad but his thinking is pretty random. Porro getting picked when he'll never be a starting RB for a title challenging side, is nuts. Spence has to permanently switch with a player like Munoz at CP brought in to compete . Ditto use VDV at LB because his passing and ball progression centrally are an issue.

I also want to add that I genuinely think the answers to loads of our issue are merely an season of football away from resolution. For example Maddison/Kulu fitness Simmons physicality. Moore in another year can be a viable alternative and this has to be a priority over buying another average oversees option. Ditto I seriously want us to give Tyrese Hall a chance to be the attack midfield player we badly need. I want a Spurs team where Luca Williams Barnett , Hall, Moore are starting because they have the talent if the club backs them.

He had them finishing around 10th/11th on average, but look at the transfer balance comparison:

-€16.50m for the last 5 seasons, but that's with the lowest wages in the league, too (https://fbref.com/en/comps/9/wages/Premier-League-Wages)

It's an absurd argument if anyone thinks he didn't perform a miracle there in the first place.

So let’s say Frank was performing a miracle with Brentford by getting them to finish 10th/11th on Average , they then go and sell their top attackers (none of which wanted to follow the manager to his new club) and the miracle manager leaves and somehow they look better for it,
Maybe we should have gone for Kieth Andrew’s instead ?
I’d love to be proved wrong with Frank however I just think he is always going to be the kind of manager who does better with less expectations , he’s the kind of manager you would see West Ham go for

Brentford was touted as certain relegation its first year in the PL, and then was still considered a relegation favorite the next season until they finished 9th and it became obvious that they were good enough to stay up every year.

I don’t really see too many on here saying Frank is a master tactician or amazing manager. Just that he’s probably a better manager than the last guy and that Glasner/Iraola are the same level and possibly a bit better. But neither is getting this squad to where Villa is currently at in less than a year.

Brentford are on pace for 54 points. They had 56, 39, 59 in the last 3 seasons. So pretty similar. Their GD is on target for +4 and was +9 last season. Why do you think they look better?

The 56 last season is 18 more than the squad he has now managed.

Didn't we we win the Ueffa cup 72 and 84 Europa league 2025 and the Cup winners cup in the 60's so that's 4 not 3 European titles the tweet has also made an error 🤔
