I don't have a 'visceral dislike of the previous manager'. It's actually very simple.

We've just finished with a manager who lost 39 games in 2 seasons (101 games). 38% loss rate
Redknapp lost 50 in 198 games. 25% loss rate
Pochettino lost 72 in 293 game. 24.5% loss rate
Sherwood lost 10 in 28 games. 35% loss rate
Christian Gross lost 12 in 30 games. 40% loss rate

We had 2 years of a manager who lost very near to the level of our mid-to-late 90s shitfest

The only people who are 'blinded' are the ones failing to grasp the normality of losing a game of football for this squad over 2 full seasons. You don't just magically undo that in half a season
Our current predicament is 100% part of what happened under Postecoglou. The long term injuries to Dragusin Maddison Solanke and Kulu were off the back the attritional battering the squad took. But its beyond Ange its the jam tomorrow team build by Levy and Lange with Paratici's Italian bargin bucket specials thrown in for good measure. Ive never heard of a professional coach talk about throwing near 10 games of football this is psychology hugely damaging. All conventional sports approaches inculcate a deep hatred of losing. This will have to be fixed.

That its proved hard to unpack and resolve does not supprised me. That we are losing games is no shock. Its the manner of the football. If we occasionally clicked and moved the ball back to front sweetly and clinically scoring great goals but narrowly lost we would not be at all concerned. Its the lack of cohesive attacking football, the paucity of our patterns absence of midfield control this is where Frank has lost people. Can he fix this? I don't know he wasn't my pick, but he has time and if he flukes two wins in the coming games he'd be firmly back in control of his destiny.

So let’s say Frank was performing a miracle with Brentford by getting them to finish 10th/11th on Average , they then go and sell their top attackers (none of which wanted to follow the manager to his new club) and the miracle manager leaves and somehow they look better for it,
Maybe we should have gone for Kieth Andrew’s instead ?
I’d love to be proved wrong with Frank however I just think he is always going to be the kind of manager who does better with less expectations , he’s the kind of manager you would see West Ham go for

Frank signed Igor Thiago in the January window, after they lost Ivan Toney. Aside from that, they just spent £80m on new players to replace the ones that left.

A sign of a good "manager" - not just a good coach - is someone who has built up a club and a system so that it doesn't fall apart the moment they leave. That was the main issue with Redknapp, who actively seemed to hate the idea of a club succeeding after he left, and the opposite of what Poch did by jinxing up with Ndombele, Sess, and GLC.

The premature judgement of Keith Andrews is similar to the reason why Ranieri really sailed off a lot of good work Nigel Pearson had set in motion at Leicester, and other similar stories of where managers replace someone decent, then after they have managed to make their own changes, it all falls apart.

Frank is doing something that Ange could not at Forest, though - getting results in lieu of having players that can play that way.

People will say "but these players DID play that way under Ange", and to that we know the answer is "yes, for about 5 minutes" and also "with the attacking players that have not featured (or barely) this season"

We've gone from "of course the defence is shit - we have no decent defenders fit" to "why is the attack so shit? It doesn't make sense. It's totally unconnected to 'we have no decent attackers fit'"

Frank didn’t sign him. Their data scouting is even more influential than Brighton. I doubt the manager had any say and little involvement in that transfer

It's Levy's empire isn't it?

He surrounded himself with his mates and built it in his own image.

Rode roughshod over a generation of Spurs supporters to achieve it and has left a basket case behind.

If ENIC are smart they will either sell the club or do the opposite of what Levy has done.

Spurs need to bring in 2-3 top quality players in the next 3-4 windows to repair the damage done by Levy.

The days of jam tomorrow need to be consigned to the dustbin.

Quality now.

As supporters we must demand this going forward.

Can’t be too demanding or we get told off for booing by people who’ve never set foot in N17 or because it upsets them. 😂😂😂😂

No, there are some people who act like he's peak Mourinho.

It is very, very, easy to just talk in straight facts about Postecoglou and it be deemed like some kind of "hate", because the facts are absolutely damning of his ability.

His stint at forest did nothing but put it in bold, size 72 font
The previous manager was fired, and rightly so. Your commentary frequently excoriates the man, and not just his record.

My main point is that your defence of Frank is based entirely on comparisons to the previous manager’s shit show last six months in the league.

Frank had a full preseason. We are now almost into January. The team has no identity, the team looks uncoached, the manager shows no courage in how he sets his teams up, we play turgid football, we are playing, if anything, worse than we were this time last year. That is all on Frank. I say all because not one player looks better than they were last year (apart from, possibly, Richi although that is probably more due to him being injury free) and most look to have gone backwards.

Frank may be a fine fellow. Objectively, though, he is a mediocre, mid table, manager who has no business at a club like ours. But, you do you.

Postecoglou's "shit show" in the league was not the last 6 months, it was pretty much the entire previous season.

How can you get your knickers in a twist about me highlighting this, and simultaneously disparage Frank's ability, when Frank is doing better this season than Postecoglou did at this stage last season - prior to the "shit show"?

Take a few steps back from the trees. You'll be able to see the wood.

78 pts from his last 66 games. 1.18ppg
Overall 104 pts from 76 games ppg 1.37 ppg
Frank so far 25 pts from 18 games 1.39ppg

I mean it is a bit 2 bald men fighting over a comb but Frank is getting better results. Its been turgid and i think its apparent he's the wrong fit but why people are acting like he took over our 2016 side i dont know.

How’ve you spun those comments into a negative!?!? Nothing Micky says there is bad.

To be fair mate, it's exactly how I thought the players would speak about him.

When you're too nice in life people see it as weakness and subconsciously perceive you differently

This is where acts of disrespect creep out just like we saw with Micky and Djed

There's a difference between being a nice person and a good person.

Nice people often can walked over in these sort of environments.

I was just calculating the same thing. I don't quite know why people are obsessed over trying to gaslight us into thinking Postecoglou is undeserving of criticism.

The purple patch that started his era is, quite frankly, the only thing that saves him from being a complete laughing stock in our history of managers

What’s going on with his hair?

Ok I get that he’s proud of still having a full head of it at his age but get a short back and sides.

He’s looking like one of those Glastonbury hippies that eat vegan food and dance to Chumbawumba.

That sounds like a poster on here that I don’t get on with!

Yes I know that doesn’t narrow it down before some wag says anything!!

:davieshmm:
