How can he say that?

That would mean he's basically openly admitting he thinks all our attacking players are shit. No manager would ever do that.

He basically told the whole squad they don’t deserve to be in the Champions League because they only won the Europa.

I doubt he’d have any issues saying that he’s only focused on defending for now.

But tbh I doubt it really is about training. It’s more about the game plan and how many bodies he is or isn’t willing to send forward into central areas.

Right now we always attack outnumbered, with more players staying back to prevent a counter. Even when we countered ourselves tonight, we weren’t sending bodies forward.

"The whole team did excellently".

Thomas Frank. After an atrocious performance vs Brentford where we honestly deserved a negative xG and 12pts docked for crime against football.

Fuck that cunt. Never was Tottenham, never will be.

Give it to the kitman, gardener or tea lady til end of the season.
We drew with a team whose Home record before tonight was 7-1-1. They've only lost at home to City.....

And we were missing pretty much every creative player in the squad.

I mean it wasn't a great watch was it but its a clean sheet and there are mitigating circumstances.

Your post is pure hyperbole, you are better than that.

I think the argument would carry more weight if we hadn't looked equally toothless and uninspiring when most of those players were available. The only 3 that really make a case for are the injured trio: Kulu, Maddison and Solanke. All of our worst performances have featured some combination of the others.

Those 3 are certainly a big loss, but it's clearly not just a 'lack of personnel available' thing imo.
All three were cunted off by this fan base at some point last season

Kulu... just runs down dead ends, no end product
Madders... luxury player, doesn't turn up away from home
Solanke... just runs around like a headless chicken offering nothing

And now these three are being cast as some sort of saviours. Pull the other one. This is the Franatics trying desperately to absolve their man from any accountability for the shit show being served every week.

I'm sorry I ain't buying that. Brentford were diabolical tonight as they were at WHL. Thankfully in both games Thiago turned into an even worse Brazilian number 9 than Richy. That was a disgusting performance, stop trying to take any positives.

You're not buying what? Stats? or the facts that we had Tel and bobbins on the bench?

I'm just laying out the facts.

That's a very reasonable post, but I think that lack of any form of attacking structure is hugely alarming. The amount of times we just punt it long to no-one, or cross it aimlessly into the box is really grim viewing. We've seen these same players play out from the back under Ange, so we know they have it in them to do that - they don't have to be as risky as Angeball demanded but there's definitely a middle ground.

Maybe the attack is 'the next layer' but it's been over 6 months and I've seen managers come in and do better with worse teams a hell of a lot quicker, sometimes without a pre-season.

I'm not expecting miracles and the squad clearly needs a lot of work, but I think if we just give Frank all the players he wants he'll simply turn us into a shiny version of Brentford.

My overall sense of the guy is that he's lowering us to his level rather than raising himself to where we want/need to be, and I suspect that's the way it will continue. Maybe if we give him a couple hundred million more on good players he'll get us into Europe next season - I can't see it this season at all - but the ceiling feels very low under Frank.

Nail on head. Especially your first sentence of the last paragraph.

Playing 4-3-3 in effect has no link up midfielder feeding the attack or accepting from the 3 midfielders behind. Imo the formation should be 4-3-2-1. Currently we have 7 players in our team that are defensive minded.
