He talked about taking risks to get results not that long ago. His message seems to have changed, O'Hara suggesting we sack him and replace him with Emzo Meresca - yet another ex Chelsea manager? Hoddle, AVB, Mourinho, Conte

I agree and have always been surprised how little the club get this.

So who does that leave that fits us?

Pochettino- the obvious pick
Xavi Hernandez - a gamble
Xabi Alonso - if Real sack him and Pool don’t move for him
Iraola - from the Poch school
Why is Xavi a gamble????
You also have Maresca
The guy at Lens is having an incredible season
Farioli did good stuff at Ajax last season before they fell off a cliff but he's going great guns at Porto.
Lots of options who can come in now and change the course of this season.

I can't stop thinking about the latest Thomas Frank interview. It worries me beyond belief.

He is blaming our attacking play on the high amount of unforced errors. So his message to our players is to be even more safe on the ball and just not give the ball away cheaply? We lack any industry and creativity and he seems to just be doubling down on this approach. It's going to get worse and worse.

I've an awful feeling about the Sunderland game tomorrow. Another 0-0 draw is very possible.
Or a 1-0 defeat... loads of huff and puff and no cutting edge... right now id just take the edge...

What’s awful about that? I sense a defeat, half empty stands, booing and a sacking. Let’s go!!!

I really don't buy it

The more I think about it the more it bothers me, especially now he's saying it as well as fans

Absolutely no doubt missing key players is a challenge, of course it is, but...

...his attitude seems to be "well I can't do anything until they're back so we'll just have to defend"

And I think that's just damning of him

Any decent coach would work with what they have to make something of it - not just give up

And I think the Brentford game captures it perfectly. SCREAMING out for Kudus at #10, and instead he puts a lad there that's played more at CB than anywhere the last two years.

He's just not Spurs. And if that's how he approaches the challenges, I also think he's not the coach we all thought he was when he came in.
i hear what youre saying, you might be right, time will tell anyway.

if kudus is a 10 then it really is dark times for the sport!

maddison being out is huge for us, hes key to us playing attacking football. like i said, hes spent ( ok'd) 100m on kudus and xavi, thats very worrying to me.

he deserves this window anyway, people saying dont buy him players etc, but good players are good players, we need upgrades on the shit we have, it shouldnt matter who the manager is.

I can't remember him stating he didn't enjoy the Brentford job.
he shouldnt be enjoying the spurs job right now tho should he, hed have to be a masochist to be enjoying it. we are in the bottom half of the table, hes got a shit squad (ones that are fit anyway), fans are booing, getting disrespected by his own players...why the fuck would he be enjoying it hahaha. he has serious work to do and time isnt on his side as it never really is in football.

Kudus has played 10 quite a bit before, and has that Dembele like quality of being strong, agile and hard to get the ball from

Would have enabled us to get Muani rw and get bodies forward

Not rocket science, or reckless, just some attacking intent

He put a cb there instead - tells me he doesnt understand the club and doesnt have the values to be our manager

And he didnt have the little imagination to find a solution, just gave up and focused on a clean sheet

If only Woolwich fans had got their way when they wanted Arteta out a couple of seasons ago, Spurs fans might not be moaning so much . All the moaning could it have something to do with Woolwich being top.
Just for the record in our last home game " boring " Spurs had 15 shots with 4 on target, Scousers had 8 shots with 4 on target, yes we lost but I blame Simons and Romero, especially Romero.
Defeats against Fulham and Forest prime suspect responsible Vicario, players are letting the manager down by some inept displays.

PS Franks biggest mistake was to make Romero club captain, he is not fit for the role , could be missing again soon.

Who is close to a two-match suspension?

  • Lewis Dunk (Brighton) - seven yellows
  • Cristian Romero (Tottenham) - seven yellows

id rather play romero at 10 than kudus, no playmaker plays with their head down.

its a shocking state of affairs when we are even contemplating this shit anyway. billion pound stadium and kudus as the playmaker! absolute joke.

I’d worry far more about our play on the pitch than overanalyzing interviews.

I think we will edge it 1 or 2 nil tbh. But i think he will go end of the season unless he wins the fa cup.

Xavi has only operated at Barca and his time was mixed, some Barca fans loved it, some didn't. Much bigger gamble than Poch or Alonso in my view.

If Arteta was sacked seasons ago and they gave a better manager a billion pound to shape his said I think the majority of spurs fans would be distraught!!! Granted they could still prove us all wrong and get over the line this season , however if history repeats itself , then it’s a very expensive First season FA cup …….
Also I hate the Arteta comparisons as they play the most Anti football ever , watching Frank try to replicate that here makes me feed sick
