Who would you like, out of interest?

I'm not seeing a credible option right now.
I was all in on Glasner tbh but Palace are struggling.

I think Iraola would struggle here with the expectation and the multiple games a week. Silva or De Zerbi would be too argumentative.

If I’m honest, I think we are fucked. A massively poisoned chalice. With a poor squad, a board that are seemingly incompetent with too many chefs now and no accountability or responsibility.

Amorim sacking surprises me
Only surprise is it took so long, imo, he was never a fit there and never showed anything resembling progress

I really hate this attitude we have as a club that things can only be sorted out in the summer.

For starters, we have proven time and time again that come the summer we are bereft of ideas anyway, so might as well get a head start on things...

Agreed.

On the basis we can get a good manager now, why wait? Surely its advantageous to get them working ASAP

Get Conte back and give him all the money.
Wages for him.
Wages for his squad.
MASSIVE Warchest.

Promise him he'll never have to go within 20 miles of Daniel Levy.

And that's the issue.

No manager comes with a guarantee of succeeding and we can't just go out there and please the spendriths by plundering hundreds of millions of pounds.

The question is one of who do you trust to bring a philosophy tbat provides progress, as well as being competitive and dependent on the club, in line with the expectations of the fans.

:roflmao:

Hard to argue here.

We no longer have the managerial pull that we had when Poch left. The squad is weak. The owners don't seem to care. The atmosphere at the ground is toxic. You'd have to be very confident in yourself or a bit loopy to take this job.

He tried giving them an assist before that as well didn't he, he's a great player when he is on it, but at the minute he is just coasting which is not what you want from your captain!

Defended him in the past. He wasn’t on it mentally yesterday. And he had a day off from his suspension so didn’t have fatigue as the excuse…

Needs to step up,

Bentancur as well needs to hold his hand up for that goal too. He fell apart when Archie went off. Started going on crazy solo pressing missions

United and Chelsea looking for new managers strengthens Franks position massively imo. He will more than likely be here til summer now with Poch more likely to come in then imho.

Does it?
Or does it force our hand to maybe act swiftly to beat them to the punch?

For all we know, United could get Carrick for the remainder of the season. He'd do fcuk all for us.
Chelsea are literally about to hire a man that not one single Spurs fan would vote for. Not even Richardarlison and he argues with fucking EVERYTHING.

It wasn't Daniel Levy he had a problem with (I know people won't want to accept that). He's done interviews confirming as much and his main issue was with the players.

It's even more of a problem now.

For any manager, including the current one, it's the problem. It won't fix itself by simply bringing in a new coach/manager, because all the real problems are above that (who is the 'sporting director'? Is Paratici staying or going? Should he go anyway? Who decides if managers stay or go? Who picks the next one? Who decided to sell Johnson and what's their next plan, etc)

Conte identified a cultural issue which has outlived everything else so far

Why not both?

Plus, many of that squad are still here. It was only a 3 years ago.

There's a good chance United might go for Poch post world cup.

So if our board are planning to replace Frank with Poch in the summer they might be disappointed.

More surprising is the fact that Frank has outlasted Amorim and Maresca. Our club is ok with mediocrity I guess

I don't think that's fair.

Frank has not abjectly failed and neither did Amorim or Maresca, and both had issues with their hierarchy.

Frank may not last beyimd the season but the club must equally be seen to have some confidence in their decision making and be clear why they would dismiss a manager they appointed a few months ago.

Maresca and Amorim publicly showed frustration with those above them.

Distinctly different.
