I don't think Frank would dream of dropping Romero , I think right now he is doing whatever he can to keep the senior players on side, its a shame though as some of them need dropping
Vicario needs dropping. Romero needs dropping. So do Porro and Bentancur. But Frank is the biggest coward we've ever had at this football club, so he'll keep picking them.

Like he'll keep playing Richy CF when he clearly doesn't have the skillset. But it's the safe thing to do, you know. Fuck me, even Steve friggin Bruce managed to turn a shit Brazilian CF into one of the PL's best CM.

The club was massive in the 60s and barring a cup win here and there, it never had a decent run in the league until the Redknapp and then Poch era. Due to mis management, it could potentially take another 50 years to get back up the league.

You, CJJ, Thinky, a few others. You know the craic.
Me, where have I said I support Frank?

I have said to you several times, I'm not one way or the other, as the guy has not had a window, and has a squad full of shit.

What part of this is supporting Frank?

Why do you persist on lying about other posters post?

The fact you have to lie about what people say, just goes to show how utterly clueless and toxic you are.

I think if a manager had a problem with the players, by proxy he had a problem with Levy.

Levy is the primary reason we didn't buy the players Conte actually wanted and instead chased 'market opportunities' like Rich, Bissouma, Lenglet and Spence. The only player I think Conte got that he specifically requested was Perisic.

If you bring in a guy like Conte it's like signing a deal with the devil. He'll win you trophies but you have to buy him a bunch of very weird, specific players that he demands, that will probably age badly and have no real sell-on value. You fuck yourself over longer term cos he'll be out the door within 2 years but he will get you that trophy.

We didnt do the 'buy him the players' part.

Conte was very vocal about that when it was the case.

I think it's incorrect to assume he didn't want the other players listed. We would have know if that was the case. He sang the praises of Richi and Bissouma that summer.

It'll be the usual case of: pointing out we have shit players who have been playing shit for nearly 2 seasons now = 'obsessive defending frank'. Pointing out our best attacking players have been out all season is seen as 'defending frank

All of it seems to be some kind of "emperor's new clothes" style basis of ignoring how shit most of these players are, and the denial of that being "defending frank"

It's just absurdly toxic on here with people saying shitty things about the appearance of a guy, trolling other members for not getting pitchforks out.
I just foul voted for trolling.

Seeing as he has to lie regarding what posters say in order for him to post the comments...

That not debating, it's trolling.

Nicked from the Ange thread

Not for one second suggesting Ange was anything other than a disaster, but

1) Clearly squad has better football in it
2) WTF has Frank even done?!

Doesn't really mean much - we don't have Son, have all the attacking injuries (correct if I'm wrong, but MW16 was before the injuries in 24/25) and yet we were still doing better this season

Full rant is transcribed here: Conte press conference: My players were selfish

What he was saying was a bit broken english, so people will probably hyper-focus on one sentence, but his point was about player power. He was basically saying the players are lazy nobheads but the managers take the responsibility and everyone protects the players.

It was clarified a bit more in a later interview:

Not really a matter of player quality in his complaints, but all about attitude. I think he felt that the players knew they could just ignore him like they did Mourinho, and that they would ultimately last longer.

There was also this:

Listening to how little the players like VDV seemed to care about finished 17th or losing all those games really highlights that it is still a thing. Conte would have gone apeshit about the attitude

For me, it would be dangerous to just assume we can replace a manager and then that's it. It has been 4 years, maybe longer, that were kicking the can down the road with the squad issue. In some ways, the "good news" is that there's basically no one of sentimental value left, so there shouldn't be an excuse to just do major surgery

If Conte hadnt gone through all that personal stuff then I wonder what would have happened. He was never going to sign a new contract because Levy had let him down in the transfer market and things went sour. He's obviously a nutter but everything he said post Southampton was correct. And would most likely would have left. Yet another manager let down by Levy.

Also, its not a like-for-like comparison

As in - first 16 games/at the same point in the season

Its match-for-match which takes no account of timing etc

Stop with the fucking facts man! 😂 😂 😂

Add in we arent going to have a second half of the season like last term and we will get players back from injuries and the season can still be saved whether people like it or not.

Everyone lets Conte down. He's never happy with the clubs he's at. So he probably would have just left anyway, considering as far as I recall, his family didn't move back to London with him anyway.

No real need to say he was "let down by Levy". He spoke really highly in the interview about how well he was look after by him and the club throughout all of that stuff. It's not necessary to make things up that aren't true
