I sort of think he is. For me he falls into the Ardiles, Nuno category of decent guy just way out of his depth. Its too big. But i think the club and the fanbase is almost becoming unmanageable at this point.
Think the fans would be fine to wait on a project, provided there's something to build off. I certainly wasn't expecting anything like a top 5 finish this year, I wanted to see the fundamentals of a system that worked. There has been absolutely nothing to be fair excited about here. Most of us accept the squad needs built from the ground up and that'll take time.

It was apparent after a handful of games that this was a Nuno level appointment, patience has led us here, to our season being over in week 1 of January. Depressing.

We need the right fit for the club and players.
No! Not for the club as it is now, or the players that we have now. We do not have the players to play the way we should play. We need a manager that will enforce a way of playing that matches the club's motto: TO DARE IS TO DO!

If we buy players to play a sort of counter-attacking, low-risk, solo-attacks with the Son -> Moura -> Bergwijn -> Odobert -> Tel type wingers we get a squad that is "fit" for that sort of football. If we get a manager that is a fit to that sort of football, we will keep buying that sort of players. Then we're in a horrible loop leading us nowhere while playing horrid, boring football.

Just wondering if Chelsea or Man U considered Frank as a replacement?
No they fecking didn't.
How did this second rate, no trophy gym teacher get the Spurs gig?
Pretty sure I saw it reported Liverpool interviewed him

He had been on the radar of bigger jobs for a while, was seen as something of a coup/no brainer for us

I had hopes he could be like Poch, step up into the role and really build something

But I think it's clear he just hasn't got it on him, all he's doing is trying to turn us into Brentford and he has no idea why it's not working

Is that the same Poch who was flirting with Alex Ferguson over a lunch date whilst he was managing us? Same Poch who thought it was ok to go and manage Chelsea despite the known hatred and rivalry?

That no mark coach Ange actually delivered some real tangible success for this club but some fans like you can't handle that. Bet you were pissed off we won the Europa

Frank didn't do that deliberately, come on let's be serious here. Stop talking nonsense
Pochettino:

5th
3rd
2nd
3rd
4th

Net spend = 127M

Postecoglou

5th
17th

Net spend = 260M

Ange isnt fit to spit shine Pochettinos shoes. Poch had us playing the best football in the league consistently without massive investment for 5 years. In comparison, Ange was temu Guardiola and has left this club in tatters with a shite squad and 300m+ in the hole.

As atrocious as last season was for the vast majority of it.. It wasn't dead.. By virtue of having the always winnable Europa League to cling to.

Unless something unexpected happens on Saturday Evening.. Our season is going to be over definitively in the first half of January. No winnable cups and no hope of qualifying for Europe through the league.

That just cannot happen.

He is so thick he actually boasted about interviews where he got turned down for the job.

He deserves sympathy in some respects after this.
  • Passing sequences were much better than usual, although we still weren't immune to going long needlessly at times. The balance between utilizing the centre versus the wide areas in the buildup was also better I feel.
  • The first two goals are caused by easily addressable stuff, not the result of some chronic issues that've been going on for months.
  • He actually went for it after 2-2; and the team created enough to get all 3 points to "jump" to 10th and stay only 3 points behind 5th. Although I'm against this X points behind Yth place argument as a matter of principle, a lot of people don't have the same objection. And this thread would've been filled with posts spreading positivity along those lines had one of those chances led to a 3rd goal for us
Where he doesn't deserve sympathy is the 3rd goal. It is back after a brief hiatus; not that teams like Sunderland who didn't score from outside the box weren't getting those target practice shots. See below

See one that Fulham couldn't score from, much easier than the one Semenyo buried today

And then this

We have already conceded at least a dozen goals from these shots at this point, and have allowed many times more attempts like the ones above.

They always follow the same pattern: Instead of rushing at the opponent to narrow his shooting angle, players try to make themselves bigger by stretching their bodies while staying glued to their original position. They didn't even do that today.

And then there's this, albeit from a few years back. Is this an ongoing issue with his teams or what?
Such commitment from Romero, clearly would die for the cause.
