I'll never understand why, when a manager leaves, it somehow follows that he needs to take all his people with him. Are we to understand that all the hires have been dogshit? Can a new manager not work with the same coaches?

Sure, you sometimes see it in the corporate world where an entire team moves with a CEO, but it just seems weird when it happens in football AND we pay them off.

They do all the coaching.

I think it is a Levy thing.

My hunch is that managers such as Hoddle, Jol and Redknapp were probably betrayed by a dressing room Levy snitch on the staff.

Most managers after Redknapp insisted on bringing their own people with them.

I mean wtf are we doing here?

It's obvious he's done, why are the club just continuing to leave him in place?

Even if we beat West Ham, it means nothing. It'l only make it 3 wins in 14 games.

And to be honest, the way we are playing at home, I think we will lose against West Ham and then we lose at Burnley.

All we do under Frank is lose, or at best draw, that is the reality.

lol wtf.

Hoddle went because he was terrible manager, and Redknapp went because he was up to no good. Dodgy deals, with Levy going to support him in court, and no more than a week or so had passed between the club helping to keep him out of prison than he was interviewing Brendan for a coaching job that didn't exist with England, refusing to sign a new deal with us, and letting the team fall to peices.

Not that I can see that it has anything to do with what you were replying to. "It is a Levy" thing.

It is a PL thing to hiring and firing coaches and managers as a package

Well, theyre part of the failing set up - why should they stay?

The paying off - Im amazed teams still do that. Contract should be written such that, if a manager doesnt hit certain metrics hes underperforming and can be terminated.

The idea managers routinely fail and get paid millions for doing so is mental.

Speaking of his team, Im really wondering about Cochrane. Supposedly very highly rated, in the England set up as memory serves, and Im sure there was real concern he wasnt coming with Frank because Brentford were looking to give him Franks position...

....I mean, isnt he supposed to be good? What is he doing?

Is he shit, or has frank got him in cuffs like he does the players?

It is crazy, the decisions the club make are beyond idiotic

Thomas Frank, bloody Thomas Frank who has won fuck all in his career except a championship playoff and who's highest league finish is 9th...

Is the third highest paid coach in the league! More than slot , more than Howie more than amorim before sacking . Same as Emery , 3 mil more than what Ange and poch were on

Fair play to his agent making even bigger mugs of the Tottenham board than they already are

I think you will find that your hero Levy refused Conte the staff he wanted to bring with him before crawling back to him, cap in hand, when it went tits up with Nuno, and the crowd were singing; "Daniel Levy get out of our club"

Conte came and brought all his staff with him.

I wonder why Conte insisted on this issue and why Levy was unwilling to sanction it in the first place?

Any ideas?

This does speak to why we can attract coaches/managers as well though.

Any manager worth a damn would fancy themselves to do a better job

At one of the biggest clubs in the biggest league

And get paid a fucktonne as well...

Although, Frank never really made sense - and is certainly showing as a bad call right now.

I'm a big believer, I always say this one liner, if you don't take risk, you also take risk. So I think it's important that we take risks. A risk is, for example, if we play a man to man, in some situations, the risk is you need to play forward. If you don't risk the ball, you can't create anything. So I'm a big, big believer of that. We need to be brave. The players need to be brave when we play, and they need to trust themselves. So I will do my very best to install that trust and the players need to be brave. For me, if they lose the ball by trying, it's never a problem for me.

Maybe if Frank is sacked before the season ends the club will ask Southgate to be interim manager, the problem is then a catch 22 because if he does well.....

No chance at all he does well

Not only won't Southgate do well, he'd be way more negative than Frank.
It might be worth keeping an eye on Eddie Howe. He's been up and down at Newcastle and they have FFP problems still.

I was thinking about this, as part of the general theme of "what he says <> what he does" and I cant decide what the truth is

Either he is a straight up liar, or he's fucking mental 😆

And honestly, as a person, I wouldnt say he was either - but there is an absolute clash between what happens, and what he says will happen or did happen

And he does seem to have a habit of throwing people under the bus as well

Its all very odd, it would make a lot more sense if I just thought he was a cunt at heart

Was going to say similar on Southgate but was lazy, he is far too negative to do any better than Frank

I thought for a while Utd were going to give him a chance, had my hopes up on it because it would be hilarious

Howe Ive mixed feelings on, good manager, would do better than Frank, but Im still unonvinced on him
