Fine margins.

Even though I want Frank out, as he don't suit us, I got a funny feeling our fortunes could have changed - to some degree - if we turned it around vs Villa. .

In all the darkness we go through now, I liked the energy and spark we showd in glimpses in the second half. Reminds us our players are not that bad as we have been displayed for several games, and gives hope we can play better under a new regime

Did you lads see any of the Real Barca super cup final? It looked like a completely different sport to what we play. Frank must watch that and be utterly bewildered by the forward passing. Two other things Rashford will never really improve woeful finish, and im not even a little convinced by the lad Real brought from Bournemouth Dean Huijsen, plays like Saddam Hussien. Maybe they will take Romero 🤔

Agree we were willing to payoff Conte which was much more

I just suspect they don't have a clue what time do next if they sacked him mid season

Agree with that. They apparently interviewed Frank and Iraola in the summer. So one would assume theyd go for Iraola. I'd be fine with that if they dont want to wait for the summer. I'm not sure we can judge much on Bournemouth this season.

We all know whatever they do will be the wrong decision though ultimately dont we?

I would take 1% of Barcelona's playstyle at Spurs

Thats how dull and boring we have been...

All abort the Frank train!

Which is why I never understood the people who thought we'd kick on as soon as we broke the trophy curse. Finishing top 4 with no UEL win last season would have been much better for the club moving forward. That 17th place finish will haunt us for years.

Also why it was unrealistic for a team finishing 17th to suddenly be good enough to finish top 5. So many pundits in the summer said it and we pretty much scoffed at them.

I'm not even convinced sacking the manager does much apart from making fans feel better in the very short term. We are a bit fucked.

Slight issue is that it looks like it happened as the players stopped listening to his instructions

I think it was perfectly reasonable to suggest that, the team finished 1 point off a CL place the previous season and many thought that last season was a temp blip.

The league is a bit fucked anyway, it's not the greatest of a barometer that can tell you how good or bad a team is doing, not at least until the end of the season. There's about 10 teams vying for around the same spots in this league as no-one outside the top 3 are putting together any consistency.

You might notice that was Harry Redknapp's first season in charge, not his last

You think we should keep a manager forever if they get to and lose a cup final?
Graham won the league cup. Few years later Hoddle lost a final.
Poch lost a league cup final and a CL final.

What I just said says nothing of any use tbh.
Do bad managers win finals and good ones lose?
Or vice versa?

I like Iraola

The big issue will be how much physically he demands from his players with the style of football, it kinda works at Bournemouth with one game a week( and still they suffer from injuries) but if Spurs get back into Europe there is no way the players will cope when we have to play twice a week

That's a fair point about the league. The margins are unusually thin this year - there's only 7 points between 5th and 15th. A draw against Bournemouth and a win against Sunderland has us in 10th and just 3 points behind 5th. There'd still be people calling for Frank to be sacked, but probably a lot less of them.

But we finished in the top 5 the season before

Last season was an abnormality. Had we appointed the right manager in the summer we would be comfortably in the top 6 right now. To go from Ange to Frank was plain stupid.

Frank has a way better record in both PL and Champo than waistcoat man.

I'm hoping that United get him in as Interim and then full time. Sounds like he's highly rated there for some reason.
I saw some headline the other day that United were after Southgate and the plan was for him to bring Kane with him. I didn't read the article, but I suppose that's what some of them think would happen.
