That’s what you would have said prior to Poch joining . He’s young , he constantly has to sell his best players , plays front foot football we want to see and we have players with pace that can play the higher line . Granted he needs an 18 man squad that he can rotate otherwise he’s not worth taking but I think he ticks the boxes we need . Also have to say his Bournemouth team have probably been the most impressive I’ve seen at the lane this season .

They have conceded 43 goals this season - he has no plan B from what ihave seen and would be ANge MK 2 with better attacking play and just as poor defending and injuries.

Personally I think a back 3 of Romero, Danso, Vdv, with Spence and Udogie is the way forward for the remainder of the season.
Both Spence and Udogie are our best wide options imo and are aggressive enough to bolster the midfield when required.

My ideal starting 11 when all fit (not including Kulu/Maddison at present) would be....
Romero, Danso, Vdv.
Spence, Gray, Bergvall, Udogie
Xavi
Solanke Oderbert.

When you say "remainder of the season"; there' still the fact that 3 of those are still injured, so that formation hold significant question marks in the meantime.

Our defensive shape was really really bad in the first half yesterday. It looked like the players had never been coached on it at all. At some points only the forward line would be pressing and the rest of the team were playing deeper. Other times only Solanke would press and no one else would follow.

City found it really easy to pull us apart and create openings. We were constantly running back to our own goal. The defenders were actually bailing us out first half. Which sounds weird to say considering they were also partly responsible for both goals. But that's because they were put under so much pressure due to our horrible defensive shape.

I don't know what the attacking instructions were but we had some glimpses of decent play in the first half but it never came that often. Then looking at how we tried to attack more second half it tells me that they were probably instructed to play conservative first half which only led to us being under more pressure.

I'm not sure if Frank deserves much credit for fixing the mess since he's the one that created it in the first place. If he got it right from the start we probably would've won the game. They really had nothing when we actually took the game to them.

Donnarumma, known for not being great with his feet, played several little chipped balls over our front line into midfield, like he was Allison or something

I think that speaks to how disjointed our shape/press was

Thats probably the worst Ive seen City in years, there for the taking

We handed them a lead, then settled for a draw = Frank 101

If it wasn't for 2 last gasp injury time goals (Bournemouth and Spam) ....we'd currently be enjoying an 8 match unbeaten run in all comps.
I mean, it would have 6 straight draws in the league, but unbeaten looks better than no wins in 6 with 2 losses

I don't know why we only play in halves (or less) and it's not a new thing for Frank btw, but there is a team there that can play.

This team has played ponderously for years and then woken up, often when behind.
They did it under Conte to the extent I used to joke we'd be better off throwing the ball in our own net early on so we play better for longer.
Angeball was often epitomized by conceding shit goals against low block teams in the first half, then hitting them with a 15-20 minute blitz from the 2nd half kick off.

How are we feeling about Michael Carrick today?

Are you looking forward to next weekend's game?

He'd chip it to Haaland who would have acres of space in midfield, drag a defender with him and all he had to do was lay it back to someone who would just play it into the space and they'd be in. Or they would play 2-3 short passes in their own half and be in the final third. It's amazing that we weren't 3 or 4 down by the end of the half.

I will put you on ignore if you don't wait.

Hoping the direction of travel is our second half yesterday and not the first.

Think he’s ok for the next few matches, as they are tough and expectations will be low.

Still very much hoping to not see him for much longer though. Hopefully gone in summer at the latest.

This annoys me

(not you, I think you're great - I mean the sentiment)

The reasons expectations are so low is because Frank has done such a terrible job

We could be going into these games, flying high, looking forward to the challenge and hoping for a result...

Instead, Frank is keeping himself in a job, by being shit at the job :frankfacepalm:

He's successfully lowered expectations far enough that whenever we come up against a decent team nobody expects a thing and he gets a free pass
