Got mates who are Villa, Brighton and Arse fans - over the weekend in the pub I asked them which of our players they would take if they could. The Villa fan said VDV, Bergvall and maybe Spence, the Brighton fan said VDV and Bergvall and the Arse fan dribbled before falling down somehow.
Frank has been pretty appalling but our squad is ropey as hell and the fact the only major addition this window was Gallagher is bordering on neglect.

Isn't Lange in charge of youth signings? If so then he's actually done his job this window. Paradodgy was in charge of 1st team I think.

I refuse to believe a better manager wouldn't have us higher up the league.
Yes the squad building has been poor but the players are better than we're seeing.
Yes the board never support our managers properly.
Yes we have injuries.
None of it excuses the performances.
Once we're mathematically safe and out of the Champions League, I want him gone and the plan for next season getting implemented.
The trouble is we're so inept at board level, they'll get to the end of the season before even thinking about decisions for next season.

Frank is clearly not up to what the fans are expecting of a Tottenham manager (yet).
But he is far from the biggest issue at the club. The big issues are further up the pecking order.
Frank is the most immediate issue
A better manager would buy the club time to sort their shit out (if ever they could)
A better manager would be getting more out of the team, and would relieve the pressure we are all feeling rigth now
Could even change a lot of the feeling from the crowd right now
Its amazing what can be tolerated by fans when the football is good
None of which is to absolve the board of their catastrophic performance so far

They are basically refusing to pay him off and pay an interim.
All to save money.

The demand for tickets will be non existent by the summer unless serious investment is made in the team.
I always felt that Levy and ENIC built the training facilities for that to provide players for the team in the long term.
Our expectations are on the floor now.
Those who renew this season, or take up the offer of a season ticket, will not be expecting anything really.
I think ENIC are staying and will roll the dice with young players we have signed and through the academy.
If players are sold for big money we may buy a few with the money from the sales.
I think Connor Gallagher level signings, sprinkled with a few from the academy, is the direction of travel.
They will get away with it too.
There is no appetite for protest.
I think the majority of Spurs supporters, who would have protested until ENIC fucked off, have already given up attending regularly.
The majority of the matchday crowd now are very passive and probably began attending when the Levydome opened or just before.
ENIC know their CRN's by now.

He was lucky to get the Spurs manager's job but his luck ran out after that.
He will need the pay off.
Keith Andrews, doing a better job than Frank, without the best players Frank had at his disposal, has shown the Premier League how good Thomas Frank actually is.
Thomas Frank and Graham Potter are the ugly face of what has happened to Premier League football in recent seasons.
These people are getting opportunities, they probably don't deserve, because of the closed shop approach to managerial recruitment in the Premier League.
The belief in these people is based on luck rather than their judgement.
He was incredibly lucky. At the time I think it wasnt unfair to say he earned the chance at a bigger club, hindsight is 20/20 but 6 months ago it wasnt the obvious mistake it is now.
I would say that luck has continued rolling for him, as above...
I expect he is a multi millionaire already, and will get another job soon enough (not at £8,00,000 pa mind you) so I doubt he needs the pay off
Agreed. I think Keith Andrews has made an absolutel mockery of Frank and more or less destroyed his reputation (in conjunction with Franks performance here)

I think there is definitely something to the closed shop, a lot of clubs seem to lack imagination in their appointments*
I also think the job Potter did at Brighton, Frank at Brentford - looked good - and so its not unreasonable for them to be getting chances further up the table.
Chelsea didnt hang around too long before sussing Potter out and moving him on (about this point in his tenure compared to Frank) - scum as they are they were decisive
Thats the mistake being made here, we seem to be doubling down on Frank instead of getting rid
