Ferguson banned journalists from his press conferences and wouldn't give interviews to the BBC for years , did anybody care , don't think so, we could always let Viaplay interview Romero his English is excellent.;)

Seen this on Reddit;

''Danish Viaplay won't be getting any more interviews with Thomas Frank. Tottenham will boycott the channel as per BT reports.

The Danish newspaper (BT) noted that Viaplay, the rights holders of the Premier League in Denmark, failed to get an interview with the Danish Tottenham manager Thomas Frank after the miraculous turn around vs Manchester City on Sunday.

When BT contacted Viaplay Danmark it turns out that it wasn't a coincidence.

  • It's correct and unfortunate that we haven't been able to show our viewers an interview with Thomas Frank . Tottenham have told us that Thomas Frank will not be available for any interviews says Kim Mikkelsen, senior vice president and nordic sports director at Viaplay.
"We didn't do anything wrong"

The reason is said to be that the Danish channel were simply too critical of Frank with their last batch of questions.

  • You should ask Tottenham for the reason, but from what we've been told they are angry about questions asked in previous interviews about the pressure of being Tottenham manager and if he felt support from the club and the fans says Mikkelsen to the newspaper (BT) and continues:
  • It came as a surprise to us, we don't feel we've done anything wrong. That's just how it is right now.
To try and rectify the situation the Viaplay director contacted Tottenham to explain the situation but so far nothing has changed.

  • We have to respect the situation and do keep reporting from the given circumstances and we hope to be allowed to interview Thomas Frank in the future, says Mikkelsen.
BT have contacted Tottenham who declined to comment on the situation. Instead they gave a short statement that Thomas Frank isn't contractually obligated to do interviews and Conor Gallagher was instead made available as per the stipulation of their contract with Viaplay.

Frank was made manager this summer in 2025. The London club is currently sitting in 14th place of the premier league. ¨

End of Article.

The last interview frank did with Viaplay was after the defeat to West Ham and seemingly one or more of these questions offended him and Tottenham to such a degree that Danish fans no longer have access to Thomas Franks interviews.

-Lots of frustration in the stands tonight with fans singing pretty evil (more like nasty) songs, does that affect you and the players?

  • Mathys Tel was playing well, why was he taken off, was he injured?
  • Have you been made aware that your team selection has been leaked?
  • Are you feeling the pressure of having to turn your current form around faster than you have been?
The segment ends with a cut to a Viaplay presenter saying: "You've got to feel for him, the pressure must be huge"

The entire club from top to bottom is rotten . I wouldn’t be surprised if Frank , his coaching team , Vinai , Lange were not there next season and I reckon they all know that . Our captain wants out and it’s clear most of the players have zero respect for the coaching staff or owners . How we can expect to see an uptick with all that uncertainty and everyone pulling in different directions . We all thought levy was holding us back but we desperately need someone to steer this ship cos it’s sinking v fast . Do I want levy back - no . Wouid I rather him than the current crop - yes .

Would be equally as likely that they're all still here next season.

This club.

Good post mate.

Have to quibble with the bit in bold. Romero has not said anything that suggests he wants to leave. In fact he's done the opposite by signing a new contract.

It would be more correct to say "our Captain wants the other cunts out"... or, at least for them to lift their game.

Which I would have thought all of us would get behind... :cautious: :D

Yup - it was the same with Levy. Gotta be at least competing for the money from the European places or showing signs of growth potential to get there or the manager gets the boot. Ange only survived cos of the Europa run and the injuries.

If Frank's shown no signs of improvement over an entire year there's no chance they'll entrust this much money to him for another season when he's finished 17th.
I do worry that if there are green shoots and we pick up a bit and finish 9th or so, that will be enough for the Gooner to back him and try and save face in front of the owners.

You tell me mate.

My hope, worry and fear is that we obviously survive or avoid relegation this year, which I think we will, but then what next?

We can't have another repeat of this, no way.
IDK but I was reading an article about Brentford recently from back in 2015 when they employed Phile Giles as DOF.

"Phil is someone who has excellent football knowledge and the analytical skills to assess players, tactics and teams in the way we want to."

''Brentford's future recruitment is set to be based more on mathematical modelling and statistics which, allied to more traditional scouting methods, is referred to as a 'Moneyball' approach.

Moneyball is a system which emerged in baseball in which the smart use of undervalued statistics allowed financially disadvantaged teams to compete with better-resourced rivals.''

It's what our club is doing with Lange and Frank, isn't it? Using a model of success for financially challenged teams.

Can there be another reason why those two were employed?

Even if we finish 15-17th he'll be kept on. There's absolutely zero doubt in my mind that the greasy Gooner cunt is a double agent and that he's doing everything he can to fuck up the club from within.

Uncanny, I put 'Moneyball Theory Of Football' into my search engine and an AI kicked in with this;

Key Aspects of Football Moneyball
  • Player Evaluation: Focuses on underlying data (e.g., successful passes, pressures, xG) rather than just popular metrics like goals or assists, aiming to find overlooked players whose, say, expected goals (xG) are higher than their actual goals.
  • Recruitment Strategy: Targets specific, undervalued, or overlooked talents, often from smaller leagues or those deemed "too small" or old by traditional scouts.
  • Key Examples: Brentford FC is a primary example, using data to punch above their weight
  • Set Pieces: The use of data to optimize specific in-game situations, such as set pieces.
To Dare It To Moneyball.

Levy didn't give the guy that won a European trophy another season after he finished 17th.

Who the fuck knows with the people currently in charge...
Vinai/the board were clearly heavily involved in that decision - Levy even explicitly said it was 'the board's' decision to sack Ange. Something he'd never said in previous managerial sacking statements.

Levy was de facto in charge over the summer but it was clear the board were exerting far more control and influence than they had in previous years.

Regardless, I think there's absolutely no chance Frank gets another season if we limp our way to another 17th placed finish. That's just absurd, even for this bunch of incompetents.

I do not think Vinai had much influence until Levy left but yes the board made the decision but it is not clear if the sacking was supported by Levy. I do not think any decision on next season has been made and it will depend on results and the reactions of the home fans. If the atmosphere is like recent matches then he will go. It is rumoured that at least 1 board member wants Frank out and whatever Vinai believes if things do not improve he is gone.

What if he finishes 14th and gets through another round of Champions League matches?

It'll be an improvement on last season's league position, and a reasonable Champions League run. Isn't it meant to be the start of a project? Don't get me wrong I don't want Frank to continue, I think that the CEO and DOF want to keep him and will only sack him if they (to use a Frankism) really really have to.
