I don't

There's levels, for sure

But it's clear there are managers with really nuanced visions of the game

Managers with strong held beliefs in terms of principles (if not details)

Frank is neither, at any level

He's a blank slate

Apart from ''caution" what does Frank even stand for/believe in/preach?
Thats the weird thing. I thought Frank was meant to be a details man but really he is just a poor mans Tony Pulis and that is a disservice to Pulis. At least Pulis knew what he was and knew there was things that he did not understand about the game and tried to find solutions.

I think even the best are great when it works. The real talents are the ones who can turn around a bad situation. And this is where I think numbers are so low it's shocking. Even the "greatest coach" Pep is struggling to turn it around at City. Despite having almost infinite funds, they seem to struggle now more than at time since his first season 10 years ago.
Fergie and Wenger reinvented their teams time and time again. Changed formations to what was best for the time. Got rid of top players because it was right and moved on.
You just don't see it anymore. Maybe Simeone is the only one in the world these days. And he wouldn't have lasted this long at Real or Barcelona.

"Your best bet if you’re Spurs is leaning into Thomas Frank and asking what he needs to get the team right, and leave all of that to someone who understands it, and everything else, the commercial stuff, can be done by the businessman."The football, leave that to Thomas Frank..."
The time to do that was went Conte lost his shit.
Maybe before he lost it.

What a fucking idiot

What is it about the media live on with this fraud?!
They clearly aren’t interested in Spurs, and Joe Cole in particular spends so much time giving knee‑jerk takes that it’s hard to take his punditry seriously.

As for Frank, it really does feel like putting an analyst straight into a leadership role. He might understand the game on paper and break things down well, but when it comes to inspiring a group, getting players to push harder, and uniting people behind a clear vision, that side just doesn’t seem to translate. No one can really see that leadership spark in him.
