I strongly get the impression from your posts here that you're not a far-right sort, just to say up front that I'm not accusing you of that or anything. But I think it's worth saying "two-tier policing" was popularised by Tommy Robinson and used to suggest that his crowd, football lads, etc are targeted and treated differently to more lefty demographics. When in reality, these are (as is often the case) convictions and custodial sentences under laws that were specifically bought in to target broadly left-wing people - in this case the Public Order Act 1986, which was bought in by Thatcher to try and crack down on rioters and striking miners and other workers. That's why we have the offense of Violent Disorder which sends people to prison for violence as part of an organised group, which otherwise would probably be dealt with by a community order or at worst a suspended sentence. The types campaigning on two-tier policing were screaming "lock them up, throw away the key" in response to the Brixton riots in the 80s or the BLM movement more recently, successfully put pressure on the government to bring in harsher laws on these sorts of offenders, are perfectly happy when those people go to prison, and then cry two-tier policing when it's used on football fans or right-wing protestors. I don't think these laws should exist or that these blokes should be behind bars, but victimhood politics ignoring the real context behind them isn't going to help the cause at all. Some very heavy sentencing for the Saints tear up.
No such thing as 2 tier policing though.
Bloody he'll, I was 23.Can't believe the Millwall home game will be 47 years tomorrow.
I was 14.
My favourite away game ever.
Was it the 3-3?Can't believe the Millwall home game will be 47 years tomorrow.
Yup.
Think it was Easter Saturday, then Mansfield away on the Monday. In the pouring rain, very strange.
Had a look up at a report about the sentencing and saw that one of the perpetrators lived 5 miles up the road from me in a little village in Norfolk. Got a year behind bars as a reward for his little day out. Probably well worth it for the fun of the fight.
