Did a tour of the new bernabeu whilst there for the athleti game and it pisses all over our gaff what with the retractable roof and surround screens though maybe I was dazzled by the trophy room šŸ˜†

Yeah I did the tour. Pretty amazing. One great quote on the way round which stuck with me because it was the complete opposite of how our players treat playing for us, it was something along the lines of:

The Real Madrid shirt is white.
You can cover it in mud, sweat or blood, but never shame

No, the writing is not on the wall. Yes, things don't look great at the moment, but there were some good signs of improvement under a new manager in our last game. People can talk about what they want on here, it's a forum. But, I find all this talk about us playing in the Championship next season a bit premature and tiresome. There'll be plenty of time to talk about it, if or when it happens. We are 2 points behind the team above us (and safety), with 5 games to play. There's a lot of football still to be played.

Don’t worry.

Even if it is I just bought a new big fuck off pressure washer.

I did the Sky Walk and Stadium Tour this week. They were presents from the family and I’m really grateful.

However, I’ve had a couple of days to reflect. It was very professional. Full safety messages etc. the view was fantastic and the inside of the stadium, the areas I will never get to experience are amazing.

But, to see all of the effort that has clearly gone into gathering together the best planning minds money can buy, sourcing the top teams to project manage, construct and fit out leaves me feeling sad.

Sad that none of that effort has been applied to the football side of the club where it matters, the team. The F1 experience looks great fun and I’m sure everyone who has attended an event at the stadium has come away totally impressed, blown away even. Everyone that is, apart from the fans watching the games. That experience blows us away for totally different reasons.

ENIC have created a wonderful facility and at the same time completely destroyed the heart of this once great club.

And for that I will always fucking hate them.

Levy’s and Lewis’s dream. An entirely corporate club with no soul just if McDonald’s did football vibes. I don’t think it is purely lack of effort though, I genuinely think Levy was thick when it came to the game of football. 25 years and no football strategy is incompetence. Football strategy actually saves money in the long term so the fact we had none unlike say Brentford or City is due to intelligence or lack of when it comes to understanding football.

If you are forever in rebuilds, forever changing plans and forever switching between attacking and defensive managers that shows lack of understanding.

There definitely isn’t enough about us in the ground. Was too blandly corporate for me. Boast about the biggest screen in Europe and don’t show spurs highlights for example.

I understand the negativity, we've got an odd history. But I think the negativity translates to constant edginess and uncertainty and probably has cost Spurs points. People were panicking early in the season before there was a reason to. If it affected the player's outlook and effort it wouldn't be surprising. Just an endless cycle. Relegation comes down to a small group of inconsistent teams. Nobody can say with any certainty what happens from here out. The situation is difficult but not hopeless.

That’s true and I didn’t really pick up on it at the time. In fact the guide was saying how most Spurs references disappear during NFL games.
I went at Xmas to see the europa cup and was really disappointed. We don’t own our ground. The people who say it’s a venue rather than a football ground are spot in. Made me really miss the Lane. Love my season ticket spot but the place is still a bit soulless. Even getting off at Northumberland Park the signs all say the Tottenham Hotspur stadium not football club. The venue wouldn’t exist without the football club but feels like its overshadowing it currently.

Agree, love, sadness and anger for this post
I'd send it to the board if I thought it would shame the bastards into action.

Not just at Spurs though. It’s across the whole league. Doesn’t help that the football is boring on the whole and we have a reach devoid of inspiration and drive.

They remove / hide as much reference to Tottenham Hotspur every time a NFL or non football event takes place.
It's why they they'll never be any statues of Spurs legends around the venue.
We are, in their very own words, merely the necessary anchor tenants.

Over the past three to four years, I think this has been, quite frankly, the most followed stadium in the world,ā€ he told the audience. ā€œWhen people come [to the first test event] on Sunday, I think they will be truly amazed by how magnificent the stadium is. ā€œIt is an NFL stadium and that’s the key message. From the very start during the design phase, we have had the NFL in mind. The anchor tenant is Tottenham Hotspur, but this is designed to be a permanent home for the NFL outside the
