Stadium Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What do ya reckon Spurs make out of a night like last night? Just wondering if the its enough for the stadium to become self financing on the back of other events?

IIRC debt on the stadium @£25m per year.

So if we are pulling in say £1.5m per gig around 16 per year. Would be sweet if that the case but no idea if my figures are realistic.

I think 1.5m is conservative even with the boxing promoter taking the majority of takings from beverage, hospitality. I think 16 events is optimistic - remember the 25m is more than offset by the 50M extra football match day taking but I see where u are going

1.5 i hope is seriously low, would be interesting to know what the deal is in them situations.

Sure I read somewhere that we got £3.5m for letting Hearn have the stadium for 72 hours.

yea that would seem more fair, reckon thats all we get or you reckon we get a % on the food and drink?
I would have thought we got something from the catering, not much though, perhaps 10%.

However, the amount of times boxing fans across the world heard the name 'Tottenham Hotspur' was priceless, so could have just been a flat fee of £3.5m with Matchroom getting all the other revenue.

3.5M seems a helluva lot. We must get a cut

I read that they got the ticket money which I’m sure was a decent chunk of change. Prices started at £60 I think so they probably got upwards of £4m from that plus their share of catering.
I think both sides will have done well from this.

Yeah agree. I know a few mates who went who don’t follow Spyrs and said it was superb for an event like that. It pisses on Wemb

It’s less disruptive in the standing area surely? Introducing it there will hopefully mean moaning old gits like Flannel sit somewhere else

I am in the standing section but don’t want to get covered in beer when we are lucky enough to score a goal (a fine chance nowadays). I’m more than happy to get stuck into a few pre match beers as much as the next man (or more than most sometimes) but I just don’t see the need for beer during the match. What they should do at the club is have more people walking around selling bottles from backpacks to relieve the kiosk queues at h/t though without doubt.

I’ve always assumed the plan was to pay the annual stadium debt with these extra events. Surely that makes complete sense? Then everything else (and hopefully extra) gets put back into the playing staff (or manager compensation).

Agree. With contactless, you could turnover 100 bottles in 10 mins I reckon….. £400 per person.

No, that doesn’t make sense when the interest terms are so low. That’s the opposite of our biz model and rightly so
