Stadium Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

My pleasure , just wish I could of charmed the ladies as easily 45 years ago . Youth is wasted on the young as the saying goes. God has a sense of humour, he has given me the charm at a time in life when I’d sooner have a cup of tea
Most definitely. Trouble is - in my head, I'm still only 29, it's such a shock when I see an old biddy looking back at me in the mirror, all I can think is 'who the heck is that?!?!'

What happened to the flats/hotel that were supposed to be built where the podium is behind the south stand? Is that to be built later, or is there no way that can be done now?

Starting any kind of building activity this year or last would have been cancelled.

Planning permission 'in principle' (ie all detail still to be agreed) was given for (I think) 5 years, so I imagine that Spurs will either be back shortly getting an extension due to covid or putting forward all the detail to get a final planning permission

That article is from 2020. Hasn't there been a refinancing of the loan(s) that meant a far smaller repayment every year? IE not really bringing it down much.

The whole point of the stadium is to make money all year round. I just hope it works. I'm keen to find out what we actually got for the NFL and boxing so far. But more importantly, where will that money go?

If you we genuinely keen rather than idly sniping and chatting hyperbolic shit about not winning a trophy for another 50 years.... You could read a couple of pages how much we got paid for the boxing.....

Similarly I'm sure you could dig out NFL info with a bit of googling too...... But you look like you'd rather just spend your energy on the former and thoughts of shitting yourself as a oldie.

Essentially they have kicked the can down the road with the stadium finance but it’s a sensible move in theory. Short term we should reap the rewards of massive revenue increases with pretty small annual repayments. First chunk of repayment £50m is in 12 years time. Even without CL football I’d expect revenue to be pushing £500m when stadium fully running with outside events. And who knows where we will be in 12 years, takeover or super league with a revenue of £1bn or in league 1 lol.

Not really kicking the can down the road. Spurs were always going to build the stadium with some form of debt - as anyone else would.

The stadium finances and Spurs record of financial management meant that longer term debt (in this case bonds) with a decent interest rate (versus current bank rate of almost zero) looked very interesting to bond investors ...... and ideal from Spurs point of view to have an interest only loan for 20 + years before a bullet repayment.

Allows Spurs a lot of flexibility to manage their finances - but assuming a fair amount of cash will be spent on the squad for say 5 years, after that its likely Spurs will start to deal with the bonds whether by way of bond buy back or whatever.

You ignore his pertinent point about where the money will go…. More infrastructure? Hotel, flats etc?

He's and others keep on repeating that money will go to ENIC - despite their being no evidence of that in the last 15/20 years. And his point was probably to repeat that - in case any gullible people might believe it

I very strongly suspect a lot will be re-invested in the squad over the next few years as its in ENIC's interest for that to happen, as well as the fans.

After those few years whilst Spurs will continue to invest in the squad, Spurs are also on record as saying they want to invest in the area and have already shown they've built a lot of affordable housing (Brook House containing some 300 homes was 100% affordable housing, development also included a school and other 'community assets') - and if Spurs can also money out of property development whilst providing even more affordable housing before the bonds need repaying then why not ?

I’m not against it but ffs focus on the football infrastructure for a few years and get that stabilised first.

Absolutely this.

Beer was freely available during the screening of the CL final at the new stadium. My 'enjoyment' was constantly spoiled by young men making me stand up so they could get past me to go for a wee wee. And others trying to carry 4 plastic glasses of beer past me, then going for another wee wee, then going to get more beers.

If you want to drink all day, go to the pub ffs.
You should have brought your cheese and cucumber sandwiches and then walked past them to go for a poo poo 😂

West ham have unveiled a statue featuring their ECWC trio, Bobby Moore, Martin Peters and Geoff Hurst at the Olympic stadium.

Why haven't we got one of our achievement in the same trophy 2 years previous ,becoming the first British club to win a major European trophy?

Surely that's one that there can be no argument about?
Here would be my list, then discus a couple of others
The founders
The ECWC team

Will this move increase capacity?

A sparse terrace is an odd move

I think the founders one could go around the base of the lamp post opposite where the old club shop was on the high road. Its where they held the early club meetings.
I love the idea, but can't remember how much space there is there. Would it be an obstruction or is there plenty of room for pedestrians?

How long until it's covered in graffiti?

If we were going to have statues, I'd prefer them to be in a more contained area, not in such an open public place

Haringey council could spend some of the huge amount of money they charge in council tax to keep it clean ;)

You're as old as you feel Miss!
I'll be getting a train today with the same three mates as when we were 14 watching Glenda, Alfie Conn and Ipswich in their Brown kit.
The only difference is we need the loo more often these days and not so scared of bumping into a big group of Spammers or chavs.
