Stadium Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The price of beer in the stadium is shocking (one of the reasons many don't bother). This was the price of drink at boxing in Sheffield last night...

😲

It’s ridiculous at all venues. The screwing of the general public by corporate entertainment is obscene. Football fans, music fans, the lot. Culture has become monetised to a point of extreme profit maximisation. Partly why I stay away wherever possible from large venues.

On the other end of the scale, I’ve found a new decent local that I can walk to that does cask ale for £3.50 per pint. So far so good. Beautifully kept Landlord and Pride. Obviously I’m only checking out for research purposes…

:frankthankyou:

Let’s be honest. Going to a pub or an event and having a drink is a middle class pursuit nowadays.

But I’ll caveat this and say the Tottenham stadium is still fairly good value for a large sporting venue in one of the most expensive cities on the planet.

Don’t quote me, but I don’t think many of the pubs in very close proximity are that much cheaper than the stadium

I remember being outraged that cigarettes were £5 per pack, you can quadruple that now!

I remember saying if cigarettes hit £2 a pack I’m giving up.
Probably one of my wisest decisions.

I’ve reached the same point with beer. 2 pints would normally cost £15 where I drink the most.
I get a 25% discount so it softens the blow.

But I think 2026 will be the year I go teetotal. Other half doesn’t drink so it won’t be too hard.

Just can’t justify the cost of alcohol anymore.

No.8 previously The Bell & Hare is £9 a pint so it's much cheaper in the ground.

I was never a big smoker. Just liked to have a few on a night out every now and then. Not sure why.

Those ten packs of menthol fags were a god-send for that.
