I didn’t even realise we already had a singing section!

Put up in the gods away from everyone it seems. Needs to be two. One in the north stand and one in the south stand behind both goals.

You know the ultra mentalists that you get in Italian stadiums (amongst others) that lead the fans with megaphones from the base of the stand? Is that something that can be done here?

I agree with a lot of the points being raised.

The issue for me is that I just don’t really like top flight football anymore. I was a season ticket holder on the shelf from the mid 80’s to mid 90’s and travelled up from Somerset, did a lot of aways as well.

Over the years got my lad into it and was still doing about half the home games but the euro final aside , over the last season though I found myself actually not wanting to go and thinking more about seeing mates and having some beers.

Those that know me are quite shocked as I was known for being able to start a riot in an empty room when spurs were mentioned.

My lads in the RAF now but will get to games where he can but even watching games this season I can only muster a cheer from the sofa, If we lose, so what, if we win, happy.

Have not watched another premier league Or champs league match in about 2 years, I couldn’t tell you the results from last night as I don’t care

Reasons are numerous, but the club now just treats me as a walking ATM to pay top prices for players earning millions of pounds who can not even pass a ball 10 yards.

I don’t blame the individual player, I would be doing the same, but I have no connection to them, I know I’m an older generation but I used to meet players occasionally in the season and be able to chat to them, these days the players are these remote PR trained monotones who you never feel a bond with.

Add in VAR, sky sports, goal keepers cheating with fake injuries, fall backs cheating and diving under pressure, cheating head injuries, ticket prices, idiots with half and half scarfs…I could go on!!!

Society has also changed and not for the better, government interference in our daily lives, shit road networks , crap and expensive public transport and events that are just corporates trying to empty your pockets, like concerts, members of the royal family not being brought to book, successive governments covering up dark issues like rape gangs…..you know a bunch of millionaires kicking a ball about just does not matter

Lucky for me I have another past time which is largely free ( until those bastards find a way to tax it!!) and keeps me away from mass consumerism….despite my moaning getting into nature and the outdoors is now my passion. Did the cascades this summer and planning a 3 week hike around Anna purna next year as well as weekends away in the UK

Anyway, I’m out now. COYS

Know exactly what you mean. A lot of what you say about Spurs and football today in general resonates with me. Just limit my attendance to Saturday 3pm kick offs now and they’re few and far between these days. Maybe just as well.

It's not like the atmosphere at the Lane was always great in the old stadium. I remember games where it was also like a morgue. As was Upton Park and Highbury. The problem certainly isn't the stadium only.
No it’s a lot of the people in it. Back in the day we never booed the team if we lost. Even when we got relegated.: people go now for a day out. Food and drink and ticket for -£200 and probably couldn’t name the team.
Everybody has an opinion on the premier league as it’s so popular . It was more fun when nobody liked football apart from us who went and supported the team.
Lower league football seems more fun now.
It’s not just us. If the home team are getting a hiding the place is half empty with 10 to go.
I looked at the champ lge matches and I couldn’t have cared less about any of them so I watched Portsmouth v Cov and Yeung Min Haek, our 19yr old South Korean.
Obviously I will watch us tonight but they are killing it. whatever system you have the usual suspects will prob end up in the quarters . Teams have to play 8 games just to get rid of 12 teams out of 36.
I have tnt sport but it will go as soon as we go out .

When I have been to the new stadium, I have a drink before the game but am always in my seat for KO. At half time go for a pee to make sure I do not have to go in the 2nd half but do not have time for a drink. Do not know if TV's show the match in the bar area as not there.
However it was reported Woolwich yesterday warned the supporters they would not be showing the 2nd half yesterday in the bars to get supporters back in their seats. Sounds like a good idea. Yes I like a beer but more than enough time before & after game for that.

Yes, the whole game is shown on the TVs in the bars.

TBH I think the problem is people still getting drinks in just before KO rather than staying to watch the match on TV.

I think the players are feeling the weight of playing there now. It is becoming a plus for other teams. If you look at our squad they are so weak and fragile mentally and have no fight in them. I bet if they suddenly had their bonuses tripled for winning there we’d be doing a lot better.

4 home league wins in a year. I can’t see many circumstances that would make me boo from the stands, but I certainly understand those who do. Something is broken at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. I hope Frank has the remedy.

It's soulless. Like the new Wembley It's built as a multipurpose arena and to generate money only. Looks pretty but teams don't fear it. Full of tourists and apathetic fans. You want that to be a fortress then you need atmosphere. You want it to be like galatasaray or olympiakos or any of the big Argentinian teams for example. But the heiracy wouldn't allow that because image is more important. You've got in there exactly what enic want in there. Good little fans that part with their money easy that do as they're told and sit down all game.

Midway through the second half yesterday, Kudus picked the ball up just inside their half and set off on a run. The second he did, the noise from the crowd rose and was deafening. He played it forward to Richarlison, the noise grew. Richarlison fell over, so did the noise.

There’s a lot of chat about how to improve the atmosphere in the ground. That moment yesterday confirmed to me that it is 100% on the players to govern the atmosphere.

Pre kick off and for the first ten minutes yesterday, the noise was tremendous, then our method of play just sucked the place dry.

The fans do make a noise when it’s deserved, but it’s understandable that they stop when it’s not. We had a very busy match thread yesterday, considering fuck all happened. Probably because we were bored with the match. Why is it any different for a fan in the stand?

The Emirates is far more soulless but the team is very good sadly so it works. Our new stadium has seen nothing but shit. The old WHL got to see the great teams of the 60’s/80’s and to a lesser extent the Redknapp and peak of the Poch era. Our new stadium has had constant ‘rebuilds’ and ‘transitions’, there is little to get behind. I live up north now so haven’t been much in the past two years but I have witnessed some very good atmospheres at the new stadium in the beginning. I get the impression fans have mostly given up.

Bang on.

If the the team could muster more effort than a 17th place finish, 4 home wins in a calendar year and in our last match, against one of our genuinely biggest rivals an xG of more than 0.05 thenn maybe our supporters would be engaged.

If the club want cheerleaders maybe it should be them paying us to be there. Funny how inflated prices and their ripple effects work right?

They get paid huge money to play football, so does the manager to manage. If a rock band does a gig out of tune with the singer unable to sing due to being badly hungover from booze can’t expect the crowd to cover it.

At Spurs you can either do entertainment, winning football or both but you can’t do neither. If we are going to play drab then we have to win. When the team gets its act together at home they will suddenly find the crowd do as well. I wasn’t there yesterday but it sounded good at the start of the game from the TV so clearly the crowd gave it a go at the beginning.

Taken from the BBC:

Poor home form is a continuation of a trend that started under Ange Postecoglou last season - Spurs have won just three of their past 19 home Premier League games (four draws and 12 losses), with no current top-flight side winning fewer home matches since 10 November, 2024.

In fact, in England's top four tiers, only Southampton have won fewer home games than Spurs in this period.

Attack isn't Frank's only issue - only Wolves (four) have made more errors leading to opposition goals than Tottenham in the Premier League this season, who have made three along with Manchester United, Nottingham Forest & Fulham.
