Champions League might be just about the money for the men in suits, but it absolutely means something to the clubs that have actually won it, I don't buy this arguemnt that its worth risking not playing it to screw up a local rival.

I don’t know if I’ve ever been so utter conflicted about something in all my time as a Spurs fan.

I can absolutely see both sides of the argument here and I agree with almost every point made by both sides…

It’s such a messed up situation that only Tottenham Hotspur could find themselves in. :ange-hands-head:

Quite... And we wouldn't even be in this position if the Man City game hadn't been rescheduled.

For me it's a slap in the face if we win, more from the manager and players.

First off if Ange changes anything I will be pissed off, he's made small tactical tweaks this season but not recently during our horrible form, so any big changes I'll be fucked off with

Then if the players somehow pull something out of nothing I will think their taking the piss out of us, as where was it for the last few weeks

Hope Vicario throws one in like Martinez did

They’ll beat us, they are so much better than us plus also they actually have the desire to win the game, something which I haven’t seen from us that much in recent months. That will be the difference they will just want it more than us and thereby win.

3 - 1 Liverpool

OK, so NOW whadda we do?!

I find the idea that we'll win a bit laughable. City look brilliant and, apart from 20 mins here and there, we've looked pretty uninspired and toothless. Loose passes, conceding set pieces, players leaving, Ange saying some don't believe vs a city side a breath away from winning the trophy.

It's not really in our hands either way imo.

Both sides should at least understand the other POV, even though they don't agree. Most of us have lived with that lot down the road winning the league, but I think it's going to be a lot worse, with the media frenzy that will undoubtedly be in evidence.
I'm now at the point of feeling quite sick about tomorrow night that I'm thinking of giving it a swerve; it totally feels wrong not wanting us to win a game.
I won't celebrate if they score, that's every shade of wrong, but I won't feel any pleasure if we do win, but there will be a sense of relief.
I feel your pain. Mrs P. Trust me, I feel it.
But coming from an era when the only other team in London was Chelsea - and they were never quite as good as us - those shitforbrainses down the road will never amount to anything much. Tosspots. No matter what, I will really never worry about them. Irrelevant, unpleasant scum.
Soon they will slip back into the obscurity that is their natural home. Trust me, I know about these things :)

Understandably, some don't quite understand how great a football club this is. They have chosen Spurs because the club has an aura, or because their Dad told them to, but they've not lived through the Glory years - so fair play to them - they've chosen to be Spurs anyway, because they know how mighty we are. We are The Only North London Club.

Glory Glory Hallelujah
Glory Glory Hallelujah
Glory Glory Hallelujah
And The Spurs go marching on!

COYS!

And then we'll get 4th but will be blocked from the CL because they'll invent a rule that you aren't allowed into the CL if you defeat last season's winner or because Levy is too bald.

Said it before, the choice is beat City, finish 5th, and see woolwich win the title or lose to City, finish 5th, and see woolwich melt because we cost them the title.

It's not really a choice, for me. If we had something, anything, to gain I'd change my tune. But we get fuck all from it, really. With the latter, I'll happily contribute to fat Robbie's pocket, whip up a bucket of popcorn and settle in for a long night of AFTV.

Imagine beating City, having to deal with the goons parade videos being tossed in your face all summer while simultaneously dealing with the realization that we finished 1 point behind Villa and all we had to do to get in the CL was beat Brighton OR Wolves OR West Ham OR Everton.
