Attack on titan? The main character bites his hand to turn into a titan.

Seeing as I was shitting myself after the seventh minute sending off , to win 3-0 with 10 men can't be sniffed at .

No complaints here , take the win and move on . Big game Sunday , will tell us much more than last night !
I agree,
No matter who you play against in this cup (all teams had to qualify first), I think it's always a good sign when a team that's outnumbered organizes itself so that it can still win!

Now it's time to wipe your mouth, Manchester United will have to deal with us first!

Come on, Spurs!

well that makes no sense
we scored 3 goals, and could have had a couple more if BJ & Solanke had been a bit more lethal

so we win 5-4 in fairy dairy land
That’s a bit binary - I’m talking generally…. If we play the same way (attacking with ten men) ten times, we would probably lose a fair few by a similar score to last night. We gave up chances and created chances ourselves.

It was bold, no diff to Chelsea - just a diff score

Better than defending ten behind the ball for 80 mins a la Jose when you win probably zero times out of ten

Just watched the highlights of Qarabag's games against Leverkusen in the round of 16 last year. 5-4 on agg, same team, same tactics and they really aren't bad to be honest, pretty much as they looked last night, good on the attack, some pacey players.

They were close to beating Leverkusen 0-2 despite playing with 10 men for a lot of 2nd half, but then just crumbled and conceded 3 goals in 20 mins.
they may upset Ajax and Lyon later next month

our next opponents Ferencvarosi looks like it will be a tough nut , don't concede much, decent modern little stadium though

lots of what if's - both ways

but where we have been uber flakey and have gone under - we didn't last night, so let's seize a positive and not cling to how things might go wrong.

Too many people with feck all understanding on how to run an under 11's football team, let alone a top 5 team in possibly the toughest league on the planet, are slagging players and management off because of their assumption that they are owed instant gratification.

We don't have an oil rich gulf state pouring gold into our clubs bank account - we have to live within the means the team are given.

Just watched the penalty we gave away and they cut to Ange's face and it is basically all of us......these players are going to fucking kill me one way or another, was his look.

Got to give us a lot of credit in the end though. Hopefully it looks like this tournament will be a lot of fun. Take it seriously though and we can do well, no reason not to. Just got to get through this group and avoid the other English sides in the knockout for as long as possible.

Went to the game. My first since the 1-2 West Ham fiasco

- obvs very poor by Radu. And totally unnecessary.
- our fitness, speed and strength made it look like men against boys
- Biss a bit sloppy
- VdV keeps getting better
- Vicario did superbly. Including on crosses
- Solanke is making a big difference for us
- Udogie did well
- We can do better than Son on the LW.

Yes we rode our luck a bit, but were comfortably better than them in 10 v 11

Spurs really fucked the pricing of this game - £30, no wonder they can’t shift them. 30 fucking quid to watch a rotated side (how much we don’t know yet) against one of the least glamorous sides on the planet - not really a knock on them, but can you honestly name a single player for them?

We will be lucky if it’s half full. Why not make it a tenner for adults and £5 for seniors and juniors - would have got a much bigger crowd in.
This aged well 52k attendance!

It was a great result with 10 men. We were clinical in attack (which was excellent to see) but most opponents would have scored 3+ goals from the chances we conceded, no doubt about that. No point analysing it too much because playing the entire game with 10 men distorted the whole thing.

I do agree with Ange though that (before the red) we started slow again. We need to come flying out the traps from the first whistle not do this tentative shit. Whenever we play slow and sideways with our CBs high up the pitch, we make daft mistakes that lead to huge chances. If we're going to keep the ball high up then make sure it's with our forward players not our last line of defence.

See I don't need a "narrative" to support Spurs; I want us to win but think it's pretty sad if you need the blinkers on to deny reality.

You lot remind me of all the United fans who wanted to keep Ten Hag in a job just because he won the FA cup. We all laugh at them, because the football is fucking garbage and they concede 20 shots a game, so how could any idiot want to keep him?

But then you realise, our fanbase is just the same, just as blinkered as theirs. Happy clappers rule the roost. You were all here clapping away for Jose, Conte, and at the end of Poch, and it didn't help matters then. And you'll be clapping away for the next manager. Fine. You do you. I'll keep calling it as I see it.
You have a definite tendency to only see one side of an argument. Happy clappers? Really? You want to slag off fans who are happy that we won a game 3-0 with a man down for virtually the entire game?

Where was your ire when the Evangelist thread was inundated with posters, after the Woolwich game, taking enormous joy in baiting any pro Ange posters?

Why does it cause you so much angst to see Spurs fans happy about a Spurs win?
