Match Tottenham Hotspur VS Eintracht Frankfurt. Thursday 10th April 2025. 8pm KO

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The front were all poor - Son did a couple of things - Johnson and Solanke let the side down .
You could have put Izak in between Son and Johnson and played until the middle of next week and he wouldn't have scored.

We have no front three threat with those two wingers, no crosses, no taking on of defenders and they just get the ball, hold up the attack and pass it back into midfield.

This is AngeBall and this is why every other team has sussed us out.

Agreed and it really pisses me off when Solanke gets the blame!

Not just on here but on many FB groups!

For fuck sake you lot get behind the team, especially when we play well. Stop making every forum about your wish to get Ange out the door. I get it. I want him to leave at the end of the season too. But in the mean time I want to enjoy any morsels of success we are thrown. We did not win yesterday but there were signs we are getting back to the best we can be with these players.

These players are capable of much, much more.

We are likely facing a twenty game PL losing season, and that's being optimistic. The PL is our bread and butter, not a second rate European jolly. With this squad we shouldn't even be worried about the second leg.

Frankfurt are a distant third in a predominantly one horse league. They truly are not that good, and have lost their only true goal threat to Man City.

Appreciate you sentiments, but it's a bit like someone having a leg amputated, and you saying cheer up mate, you still got one left.

Too busy on the oche!
So, true story - a few months ago my wife and her mate were having a few drinks in our local. Some 'young kid' as she called him was buying drinks for everyone in the bar that night and she wondered why. He offered to buy them both a drink, my wife's response was 'no, it's fine, you keep your money', thinking he was just a local lad who had a few too many. She literally had no idea who it was.

Someone had to tap her on the shoulder and say 'Er, that's Maddison'.

If you fancy it, have a look at the Maddison tackle that gives them the chance to counter just before their first goal. Do you think my moaning is valid? In fairness I haven't watched it back but I remember just thinking that is a clear moment where there he shows a lack of character and instead of showing leadership by springing back up to fight back for the ball, he just for a moment or two (which is a life time when the opposing team has a chance to counter) had his head bowed in a sulk and just left it for the other players to clean up!
I saw that, but I think I read it as frustration at his lack of options, with people not showing for him. Could have been either, or both, I guess. It's not good enough, either way.

I guess I would comment that Benta and Berg hit the bar, not the front 3 (which I believe is what the post was about).

Correct - Son was the best of the three

Solanke is allowed to do something himself.
Isak scores from making his own chances. Solanke bit of a lump - chances have to be put on a plate for him. But any half respectable strikers will score from very good chances.
He was not much more than a body last night - as in playing with 11 is belter than 10 and it makes some difference .He runs into a space - it creates space for others, You are talking about the bare minimum.

What last night showed is under a good coach we can actually be a decent side. Under Ange though we are shambolic.

It's never been more obvious we need a decent manager in charge, Ange absolutely has to be sacked, it's mental he's still here.
Why's that?

Other top (and medium and weak) teams have at least one player that is a constant threat and usually wins the matches.
Salah, De Bruyne, Haaland, Saka, Fernandez, Grealish, Palmer to name a few. Even Frankfurt has Ekitike.

Who do have?

Just watching highlights now, on 44 mins, they have 4 on 2 with a clear run into our final 3rd.

They fluff it, thankfully, but it's a hard watch. Nice to know they can be shit, too, though!
4 on 2 should never happen unless we're in the last 10

Putting Son above Solanke in the performance ladder is some drug fuelled craziness

I don’t think that Solanke was our problem last night

Look at Son and Johnson!

We were saying this last night as well. I feel sorry for Udogie and Porro sometimes as they both seem to play narrow without the ball and be left with 2 or 3 on 1.
I'm not sticking up for them 100% but it is obvious that this is where and how they have been told to play and in turn it can leave them horribly exposed. Both Son and Johnson offer little defensive cover for them and it is easier for opposition teams to expose that space.
A few times last night if a different ball was played by Frankfurt then we would of been in serious trouble.

Absolutely shocking we're at the end of season two and Ange still hasn't figured out how to get SOMEBODY into the wing positions that can take on their man and do something with the ball. 4 windows and 20 months of training and you can't either buy or train someone to do the most necessary thing you need for your system to work? Absolute joke.

For me that is the ultimate sign of no confidence you can have.

Wouldn't mind so much if we were lightning quick on the break...we are not
