I agree ; it’s unsustainable.

If we’ve got mediocre players we should get someone in who can work with mediocre players: and improve them or get a “ greater than the sum of them parts “ thing going on .

Levy should be honest and realistic : aim for 4th ( possibly 5th or 6th ) and get a manager/ coach who understands what’s expected of him .

Success in Scotland probably went to Ange’s head . We need a steady-Eddie ( mid-table and hopefully a few places higher ) manager because that’s what we’ve become . Sadly .
 
Having just finished watching, it’s a hard one to characterize. Not a bad performance. Decent in fact. Their keeper was quite good. Best we have looked recently against a decent side.

But still, we concede early, we waste loads of possessions, waste far too many opportunities, and the end result despite a decent performance is that we come out level against what should be considered a lesser team.

What’s more likely, we improve on this for the second leg away, or they play just a bit better on their home ground and finish us? Hard to be optimistic in my opinion.

It felt like we gave them everything we could expect to give, but still fail to win. Even Ange said he couldn’t ask for more from the lads or something like that.

I was also thinking this at the game but just watching the second half back and fact is BJ made the movement to set up his chance that against Southampton he buried top bins - but I this game he blazed over.

The point is BJ for all his faults is Dele like in his ability to pull into the right space at the right time to score.

This is something Solanke has lost all ability to do and no one else in the side ever seems capable of doing. And if he'd buried that chance this conversation wouldn't be happening.

We just need major upgrades

Good night out. Plenty of laughs were had. Which is what’s it’s all about right? South stand shelf side still gets the seal of approval.

Not the worst way I have spent £500.
Not the best way either.

And If that’s Ange Ball I’m out long term.

Be nice to get to the final though. So for a few games i guess I’m all in by default.

We were favourites to win the competition at the outset for a reason . Frankfurt weren’t.

Im glad I wasnt optimistic before the match.
Pleasently surprised by the performance in the 2nd half but Frankfurt were fine with the draw so...
We either have to win in Frankfurt or win the penalty shootout and I cant see it happening.

And how are Frankfurt the lesser team when they won it just a few years ago and sit in 3d in the Bundesliga while we sit in 13th.
Just because we pay our players more money?

I think for many of us right now, the football bit is secondary to the social aspect of attending Spurs. I've had some very messy, and memorable matchdays, and long may that continue.

But even assuming the worst, you won't get an easier draw than that on the SF of EL. Even in a relatively watered down version of this tournament where CL teams no longer join into the mix.

Second leg could very well be a ticket to the final. Hope we don't look back on some of the chances missed today with deep regret further down the road.

Amazes me that anyone has confidence in Spurs to win games against any calibre of opponent anymore. I don't believe this team under this manager has the spine to go to Frankfurt and progress through the tie, this team is characterised by its utter inability to turn up when any amount of pressure is on, considering Ange himself is now weaving the narrative of going all in on the Europa league and linking poor league performance to cups, it's remarkable how we still look completely flat in the Europa league as well, if this team can endeavour to make AZ Alkmaar, Galatasaray and Rangers look mustard playing away, what fucking hope have we got?

Levy should really take this warning shot across the bows as a grave sign to sack Ange in the morning and bring someone in on a lucrative interim deal who has half a hope of getting something out of the game in Frankfurt, hard to say who could do a job given only a few days though, this decision needed making months ago and it is now unsurprisingly going to cost us our last remaining hope of gleaning some joy from this fucking depressing season. I don't want him to get the rest of the season when we crash out next thursday, I honestly want Mason back in the dugout until summer so I can at least start watching our youngsters play without the constant nagging anger that we have an incompetent twat in permanent charge of our football club.
