I Honestly think we would have still made top 4 had we kept him but Levy couldn't handle being called out in public and here we are now (evidently he doesn't mind the fans being ridiculed by the manager constantly though).
Conte refused to come back to work. He was ill and then didn't come back. As much as he had a point about the club always throwing managers under the bus instead of the blame going where it should, Conte was fully checked out and had no intention of continuing as our manager. He left his mate Stellini to stay and take the heat for the mess that was about to unfold with the team.
He "fully checked out" yet we still managed to secure 19 points in the 10 game period he apparently checked out on? which is 6 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses in a "bad period".
He left his mate because his other mate suddenly died and he was having serious health issues. He didn't just randomly say "nah fuck it I've had enough". He initially came back after his health issue pretty quickly but then had another health scare and it was determined he came back too early.
After all that he still came back and was still picking up results. He's a fucking winner and not a talker like this current clownshoe. The ref in that Southampton game was an absolute disgrace.
Based on fucking what?! That team was in or around the top 6, this team is fucking 15th in the league mate.

For most of that season the Conte team would be a safe bet. By the time that Southampton game came about they were done with him and this team, fully fit, would turn them over.

Not really. We have a few impressive wins across a season. We are consistently very rubbish. You aren't in the bottom half if you aren't consistently very rubbish. If we lose this today there is a very feasible chance we could end up 17th in the league with the remaining fixtures.
Winning the first round of a league cup tie 1-0 and then immediately losing the second 4-0 doesn't make you inconsistent, just a bit rubbish.
