Match Tottenham Hotspur vs. Juventus - Tuesday, February 13th

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Personally I dont like the way our achievements in the group are played down. Rather than it being about how poor Madrid supposedly were, I think it actually shows that we can go to Italy and get something.

With Spurs, the bar is always raised and the goalsposts moved.

Ahhh it was only Real Madrid, wait til they play Juve

:pochbye:
Pisses me off too. Properly.
“It was a shit Real Madrid”
Is that the Real Madrid with Ronaldo and co?
Fuck off.

I haven’t seen the media saying this. Rival fans, yes, but we hardly go around praising other teams achievements. It’s normal.
Fair enough. But I hear it often. And it pisses me off. We held onto their coat tails at their place when most thought we would take a raping & took them apart at ours. They weren’t shit. They were just beaten by the better team over two legs.

I think we really need to have Son up front. They need to respect his speed off the wing and opens up much for space for Kane in the box. I almost feel like starting both Lamela and Eriksen plays more into Juve's strength defensively. But what do I know...

My guess is that Juventus will play very defensive. They'll try to keep the game tight and deny us space. I don't think they have the fitness to play 90 minutes at our intensity though. And on the break I suspect they will underestimate how good our defense is. If you look at our team on paper your focus automatically goes to the midfield and attack because it is so strong, but actually our defense is very good as well. I expect this is true the other way round as well. I am familiar with their attacking players, but less so their defensive ones. That doesn't mean they are shit though, probably very good.

So hard to pick the line up for this one. You could drop Dele back alongside either Dembele or Wanyama to create space further forward for Lamela. Otherwise I think Poch will bring Lamela on around 70 minutes when he will cause most pain to Juve.

If Toby is fit though then I'd probably play 352/532:
Lloris
Aurier, Toby, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Rose
Eriksen, Dembele, Dele
Kane, Son

Insane as the prospect of dropping him sounds; are we really gonna get another top draw performance from Dembele in such quick succession....?

IF deemed not, and we're not gonna go 3CBs then I'd like to see:

- - - - - - - - - - Boss - - - - - - - - - -
- Serge / Sanchez / Vert / Davies
- - Dier / Eriksen / Wanyama - -
- - - - - - - - - Son / Deli - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - Kane - - - - - - - -

Poch will revert to a back 3 for this, reckon son will be the one to start on the bench, only because I think him coming on around 70 minutes will cause them all kind of problems!
I just hope Dembele is fit to start, if not I'm confident in wanyama, the joy of having a full strength squad! :pochohshit:

I'd take a 1-1 draw all day long. Would be a cracking result imo.

He’ll yeah. 1-1 in Turin and I’d be very confident of winning the tie.

All the focus has been on them being a defensive force, and us being an attacking force, but we’re also one of the best defensive teams in Europe. 1-1 away and I think we’d happily set up to soak up their attack at Wembley, and attacking isn’t really Juve’s strength.
