Match Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City, 20:15 GMT, Wednesday 30th October. League Cup Round of 16

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Spurs fan from California. Did summer time just end in the UK? I was hoping to watch the first part of the game during my lunchtime and game start is pushed out an hour 15 min. :ange-bored:

Hahahha, I just realized guys...

Being Spurs fan is mental condition.

How else could you call situation where -
- you are full aware that club directors are out of their depth and are unable to run the club nearly as well as it should and could be
- you are very doubtful and have rather pessimistic view of the manager in charge due to number of reasons
- you understand that many important players are either missing or off form
- you are mentally prepared to be hammered not only today but also in next (important game) due to 2 previous reasons...

... AND STILL when the game nears you feel excitement and can't keep thoughts off from the lineup and performance of today ? :D

Money, basically.

The financial reward for winning the Carabao is peanuts. You’ll get a much bigger financial reward if you finish high up in the table in the league or go far in Europe.

The boards intentions are not the same as fans
Totally agree. The owners mentality sucks and is in no way reflective of the fan base. Couple that with the current manager who’s constantly rude & prickly as fuck it’s a strange mix
I STILL don't understand the mentality of NOT grasping that winning something, ANYTHING is better overall for a club's finances than crashing out early!

A trophy is a TROPHY... a trip to Wembley should still mean something, even if it doesn't pay the bills like the CL...
WINNING BREEDS WINNING, or is that a myth?

Bbbb but "I usually win trophies in my second season" or some shit.
I think he said "ALWAYS" mate!
That's even MORE confident!
He'd better take it seriously, 'cos, unlike City, we're not in the privileged position to pick and choose the trophies worth winning!

The League Cup isn't beneath us, seeing as it's been 16 years since we've won the thing!

8.15 kick off ???? WTF is that for ?

I predict it will be similar to last season. We will play ok but end up making a mistake, conceding a goal and out we go.

If Pep does truly play the kids, this could turn out to be a highly embarassing and damaging night for Ange if we lose.

By the looks of some of the line-ups around the country, EVERYONE is binning this off as an inconvenience...
I hardly recognise a single name in the Brighton/Liverpool match... on BOTH sides!

If ANYONE dares take this seriously tonight, they should win...
We need to be one of them!

Go strong, or go home!
I'm hoping Ange sees the benefit of taking this seriously... The League cup is NOT somehow beneath us!

the problem is there will be some good sides I. The last 8 and they will start to take it seriously

May as well go for it tonight. No extra time and the chance City will rest lots of key players. A loss here, followed up by a possible defeat against Villa would definitely get the vultures circling over Ange. A win tonight and even a disastrous result at the weekend would still give him some clout. We're already proving to be woefully inconsistent in the league, so may as well try to go far in the cups.
