Match Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City, 20:15 GMT, Wednesday 30th October. League Cup Round of 16

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Well done to win it! But to be fair, City gave shit all about this match and the competition in general, playing their kids and with Pep, Haaland and Akanji laughing right before the whistle. And we had to work our ass off to get the result, unfortunately sacrificing VDV in the process (and what about Cuti and Dom who both looked sore?). A win is a win and that is why we are here to support. But still not convinced about the suicide tactics.

Fucking hell, you're the second person to mention Haaland laughing at the end.

Who gives a fuck?

We didn't play any suicide football tonight?

We were without Porro, Son and Maddison. Had no VDV for 75 minutes. Lost Romero for basically a half. Had a 18 year old midfielder at right back and ended the game with a 17 year old on the wing and Ben Davies playing centre half and I honestly cannot remember ANYTHING Vicario had to do.

Have a word.

I’d be tempted not to play either of those two. I still think we’d be better off playing Udogie as a winger. He’s not good enough defensively. I bet another manager wouldn’t play him left back.
Udogie isn't that good offensively either. I wouldn't start him most weeks to be honest, just don't like his attitude. Very much the same with Brennan...yeah he scored a few goals but very much feels like a purple patch and he's still lazy af.

Issue is, it's not like we got many other options. Unless you do things like try Werner at LB...he does put in a shift off the ball. Maybe Porro at RW ain't a bad shout either...he can't defend but he does have a decent cross and can score the odd goal.

Not buying proper LB and RW cover coming back to bite us in the ass. Who'd have thought?

Tactical genius leaves best striker in the world on the bench with time running out and in need of a goal. Meanwhile, clueless gimp replaces Romero with best defender in the world ensuring City are stifled and victory is assured. It’s a funny old game.
I must say that Guardiola didn't look too upset at the end of the match and Haaland looked like he was laughing and joking with the other players on the bench. A far cry from his temper tantrum at the end of the 3-3 at the Etihad last season.

I want us to face and beat all these better teams on the way to winning it , then nobody can say it was a soft comp . Once in the semi's the best teams will be on the park as well , so no gimmy cup this year .
Now that we beat City, no one can say that. Really nice win that could spark a good cup run. The best news is that now we don't have to face City's first XI later in the cup if we would have drawn them later on- we can only face a slightly less-strong possible opponent, which is really cool I think. From an odds-making/probability stand-point to remove your worst potential outcome is a very nice trick.

He'd be absolutely fine if he was playing as a left back. But as he is playing midfield and fullback and he's not TWO people he looks shit. It's obvious stuff and I bet another manager wouldn't ask him to. Not even prime Kyle Walker could do the hybrid inverted fullback thing and defend properly it's impossible.
