Tottenham Hotspur Women

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Huge win for the ladies. It’s been a pretty dreadful season but relegation would have been catastrophic. We’re still a long way from competing with the top sides sadly.

Kerys Harrop: Tottenham defender breaks Women's Super League all-time appearance record

Tottenham Hotspur defender Kerys Harrop has broken the record for most Women's Super League appearances by playing in her 178th game in the competition.

Harrop, 32, overtook Gilly Flaherty and Kate Longhurst as Tottenham lost 2-1 to Everton on Sunday.
"She's a born winner," said Spurs interim manager Vicky Jepson.

Hapless squad being kept afloat by a prolific goalscorer

Sounds vaguely familiar
There are some obvious issues with the team.

We are chronically short in midfield, no quality there at all and not that solid in defence either. Spence has a big reputation from her time at Chelsea, but her time is definitely past and Ayane is just a really bad football player. Angharad Jones is not very good either, but she is Welsh so we won't be too critical.

As someone on the other side of the world who follows AFL/NRL. So like this.

Over here double headers are common, except it is usually the reserves team first as a curtain raiser then the main game. Gates open early and those that want to watch the young players can go in early.

In a spurs context would be like U18s at 12pm and then the first team at 3pm.
Yeah they did this before when we had a friendly with Woolwich the other year.
But basically doing this I think because the woman are in danger of getting relegated so hoping for some support.

Of course. Their intentions aren't very subtle.
Personally think it is an under-utilised idea. And not just the women's team. And not just our club

Could also incorporate the U18s and U23s.
1bn stadium that we use for about 30 days a year for football. Should be used more.

double headers, more standalone games not with the first team. Even if that means shutting part of the stadium to save on stewards/concession costs. Such as top tier shut or open 1 side for standalone women's/youth fixtures unless demand is met for more.

So many games of football featuring THFC that we (and most other clubs tbf) under use our home ground. Would help any youth we introduce into the first team (lol as if) having already had experience on our ground before.

Nice. After watching us get spanked by Brentford we can watch our women’s team get relegated
